Mambrino King Wine Coffee Chocolate Café — Restaurant in Town of Aurora

Mambrino King is a favorite when we are in the area. Especially for a Chocolate or Expresso Martini, or even a nice glass of wine. When the weather is nice we like to sit out front, but on our last visit it was too busy. So we sat inside. It was still comfortable and the drinks were as we have come to expect - delicious.

This last visit was good, but not as great as previous experiences there. The staff were not on their "a-game". Service was slower than usual. It took more than 45 minutes to get our first round of drinks.

We also tried to make things easier by doing separate checks for the three couples, but that ended up making it more confusing for the staff as drinks ended up on the wrong bill, we were charged for one that we never got and credit cards (which were on the individual clipboards) ended up getting associated with others bills. It was a hot mess, but all eventually got resolved. The staff was apologetic. I would say this is certainly not typical of previous experiences.

We will be back again soon, as we enjoy it there. Hopefully the next visit they will be back to the A+ we are used to.

This was my second, and final, visit to mambrino king in east aurora. I came here last fall with some friends to celebrate my 21st and had a lovely time! The waitress was kind, helpful, and even gave me a chocolate for my birthday. Because of the great experience, I decided to bring another friend here for her 21st birthday, but we got a much different response. The owner checked our IDs, though we hadn't even considered ordering drinks, and proceeded to interrogate us with questions about what high schools we attended, when we were born, and why we looked so young (as though this was a bad thing). It's reasonable to expect equal and quality service, even as a young adult, as I noticed the other customers were receiving. Instead, the owner repeatedly told us that she had kids our age who had fake IDs, so she wasn't comfortable trusting us. I am sorry ma'am, but we are not your kids. We are (or would have been) your customers. But instead, you made us feel uncomfortable and unaccepted, though we had every right to be there. Fortunately, the service next door at Griffon Gastropub was more fairly priced and provided us with the cheerful service that we expected, making our friend's birthday a...

Stopped there Friday evening about 830pm. Beautiful place but I feit our group of three were second place to a bigger party of 16. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer platter of cheese, sausages and veggies before this party came in. Our wine came out very quickly and the owner very pleasant. We waited and no food so we asked and the girl said she would check. I watched her talk Ito the girl in the kitchen who we just standing around apparently she neve started it. Ok that was fine. Then this group came in with a party then we did not matter. After another 20 minutes or so I had to yell over to the girl to come over again because I guess we didn't matter at that point to tell her to cancel the order we were done with our first drink and since no one asked if a wanted anything else we were through. Nice place but you need to be a past of a big party to matter.left...
