The ice cream and cones are really good, but I can't get past the fact that the employees that scoop ice cream and handle cones are the same ones cashing out the guests. I stood in line and watched as all the kids working there handled money (which is one of the most bacteria-laden items imaginable) and then went back to grabbing cones and scooping more ice cream. No gloves, no sanitizing or washing their hands, nothing. I have never seen this practice at any other ice cream shop before. Usually, one employee is cashing customers out while the others prepare the ice cream, or if it's the same employee, they wear gloves and keep changing them. When I asked the employees about this, one kid said "We never touch the cones, we just touch the napkins and wrap them around the cones." Uhhh so then you're just handing me a dirty, bacteria-laden napkin to hold around my food? That makes no sense. Sorry, but touching money and then grabbing ice cream scoops and flimsy napkins to wrap around a cone has got to be resulting in so much contamination constantly. This place has absolutely filthy practices, which is disgusting at any time, let alone during a global pandemic. I don't blame the kids working there, but I do blame whoever trained them to do this. It's too bad, because their ice cream is really good, but this is beyond gross (not to mention absurd during a pandemic). Also, the place is very expensive. This is not some hole-in-the-wall dump, so I'd expect a lot more from them as far as...
Read moreI’ll say the quiet part out loud. If you know of someone (including your self). That came here and still doesn’t like ice cream. Then something is seriously wrong with them and yourself. The hand crafted ice cream here is truly amazing. You have so many fun and unique creations to try and enjoy. I was gifted a few pints, and I’m having a hard time trying not to eat them all in one go. Every pint I purchased was pack with goodies. Ranging from, marshmallows, nuts, fruit, chocolate candies, and even cereal. I was quite impressed with Rosie’s
Aye Aye Cap’n- Cap’n Crunch ice cream you can’t go wrong.
Rosie charms- another cereal themed ice cream. But this one is even better than the Cap’n one. Because the marshmallows are sooo delicious
My Yummy- This creation is now one of my favorites.. The taste reminds me sweet potato pie. And I throughly enjoyed the pecans and marshmallow swirl
Lemon Verbena- can you say this reminds me of the Wegmans poppyseed muffins, but without the muffin. Absolutely a must try
Legitamint- This one I could only eat a scoop of. Not because it tasted bad. But because the taste of Andy’s mint chocolate, is to...
Read moreI've been to Rosie's many times and unfortunately they are just not consistent. Tonight I had their apple crisp ice cream and it was incredibly dry like it had frost bite. It seems like they're ice creams that have any kind of pie or cake in it are very dry and taste like they've been in the freezer for 6 months. I've had very good ice cream there and got a lot for my money and then sometimes maybe half the time I seem to somehow get less and a lot less. I'm not going to complain about the price because you walk in and see what the prices are and if you don't like it you can leave, but you would expect consistency at those prices. The parking in the downtown location is atrocious and I don't know what they were thinking but putting it in that location, and the East Aurora location needs to put a railing down the middle of those incredibly steep stairs. And for the love of God empty the trash can and at least put a second trash can at the bottom of the stairs for everyone sitting down there. I like their flavor combinations, but the texture of ice cream that you're going to get is...
