Mama's Copiague — Restaurant in Town of Babylon

Had tried their pizza and takeout a few times, but wanted to wait till I had a sit down meal here first before I gave my full review. To start with the takeout though, the pizza is delicious and they have specialty slice options galore, and perhaps my favorite buffalo chicken slice. A key theme here though, portion size, these guys do not skimp! Chicken parm hero was the same way, I borderline could have had that thing for 4 meals! But more than just quantity, the quality is still there. Everytime I've put in orders, they were always ready on time to boot. Now to the restaurant portion. Came on a busy Sunday night with no reservation and had to wait about a half hour, which is what they told us to expect. The place does seem to get quite busy, so don't be shocked if you need to wait. Once sat, the waiter was excellent, I believe his name was Roberto, very professional. They start you with some garlic knots for the table and the we ordered the chicken panzanella and the chicken bellagio, which also comes with a house salad, nothing special there. Now looking at the prices at first I thought I really was at the bellagio in Vegas, a little pricey I thought for Italian, but when the food came out, I got why. MASSIVE plates of chicken and pasta that I comfortably did get four or five meals out of by myself. Personally I think the chicken bellagio was a little under salted, but still tasty but the chicken panzanella was done well and everything was obviously very fresh. Definitely would love to come back and try more of their options, just perhaps with a bigger appetite, or more friends to share with! Had an amazing dining experience today on a lovely Friday evening for a birthday dinner. We were blessed to have Greg as our waiter. Our group was a bit complex with two adults with special needs. Greg went above and beyond and provided gold standard customer service. Our family always has anxiety when dining in public in fear of being judged, misunderstood, and looked at by other patrons. Greg made us feel extremely welcomed and our uncertainty was at ease. His kindness and compassion toward our family shined bright. Greg accommodated every single special need our family required with a smile, he even went above and beyond by personally purchasing a bottle of A1 steak sauce from the grocery store next door to accommodate my autistic brothers needs because the restaurant didn’t have any.

As always, Mamas of copaigue has the freshest food with generous portions. We never walk out disappointed with our left overs for lunch the next day. Greg made our family birthday dinner by allowing dinner specials to be served from years prior, which was so appreciated. In addition, their desert menu and choices of coffees does not disappoint. Their cakes as just as fresh as the food and they have a sweet treat for all to enjoy.

Overall, giving Mamas 10/10 will return in the future and you should dine there as well. These days customer service and hospitality is in the dumps everywhere, I’m happy to say this restaurant kept their service and quality of food intact...

I love mamas food so it actually hurts me to leave this review! Food was amazing as indicated by the 5 star review but the service was the worst experience I’ve had in a very long time. We arrived around 6:30 and was told there would be a 30 minute wait which was totally accurate and the hostess was extremely nice and friendly! We were starving so we immediately ordered as soon as we saw our waiter and the food came out in great timing and was delicious …. However once we got our food we were totally forgotten about. We waited about 30 minutes to get it wrapped up and another 10 for our waiter to come and offer dessert. Then we waited another 30 minutes to order dessert. Once served dessert we asked for drink refills specifically water as we thought it would be the easiest, we received some more water once dessert was finished and after the bill. Also- we were seated in a booth and the table next to us was over stuffed and practically sitting at our table. We could hardly get up to use the restroom.

Overall, I love the food here I was just disappointed by the service. We were at the restaurant from about 3 hrs not including waiting and only ordered entree and dessert and as stated above we ordered entree immediately. I feel that we are very understanding when it comes to waiting and the restaurant being packed but it just seemed like no one cared and we were...
