SO: no huge tips, no education anymore: so sad! However, nice food.
1st of all: nice place with good and variated food. The owner's so nice and made us some jokes. Place called our attention on our visit in Amy and decided to enter. Good decision cause I repeat, we ate so nice with a perfect quality-price. Thing we just found (and I also work face to public) rude and impolite was the behavior from our waitress. Seemed to be a nice woman, feeling ready to make our lunch such a time to remember. That was until she checked her tip. I perfectly know how it works, but just imagining some servers give you a nice service ONLY to get more tips at the end, is just inacceptable and sad. I don't get how this could be a way to work, either your attention to customers is based on. A really shame for us, as long as we gave her $8 buck tip (JUST 2 plates). Was a nice % from the bill and the face she just turned once counted the tip -in front of us- was unbelievable. WAS NOT at all even able to say goodbye to us once leaving - at least the owner did. If that amount didn't made her happy, she better stay at home and not giving service. Tips are a subject to respect as customer is who decides. Quest is: which qty she expected to receive? $25? $40? More than the lunch? Still dunno if she had a bad day. Not forgiveable anyway. 15day stay in Nyc ANYONE gave us that type of attitude. However I insist: food was great and obviously that's not a review to not to go there and have a good time. Just be prepared if THE woman comes to you with her...
Read moreI wanted to like this place. We were sat next to a loud annoying family despite most of the diner being empty. I ordered a simple #1 and yet the waitress comes back a few minutes to ask me what I ordered. Our food came out in a timely manner, though a fly buzzed around us while we waited. My panini was surprisingly good, the main reason I'm giving some stars. The fries were very typical. The portions were fair, though still I wish it wasn't somehow $37 and change (before tip) for two people to order a sandwich each. Anyway, the absolute WORST part, and the factor that inspired me to bother leaving a review, is that they were pouring straight bleach on the floor right near us as we ate. Are you serious?? That smell was not only noxious, but my mother and I were getting lightheaded as we tried to rush eating to get out of there. To the management, if you see this, please clean your floors after hours, at least if you are going to use such harsh, strong-smelling chemicals. There is no reason you need to bleach your floors more than every 24 hours, therefore there is no reason you should do this while there are customers present. I feel like this should be...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to this diner with our family for years and it used to be one of our favorite neighborhood spots. Unfortunately, the service and quality have been steadily declining. At one point, we were even served spoiled rice. Another time, when I called with a concern, I was told to “call back later” and then hung up on.
Despite these disappointments, we continued to give the diner our business out of loyalty. Sadly, today was the last straw. In my husband’s breakfast, we discovered a sharp piece of material that looked like part of a countertop or another hard surface. This is completely unacceptable and unsafe.
We are deeply disappointed to say that after years of coming here, we can no...
