Pros:
Some of the best Indian food I've had in my life. It's great to have a real Indian restaurant closer to where I live. No more 35 minute trips to Nassau! The butter chicken is mouthwatering!! They know how to spice their food properly. I ordered medium spice at the restaurant and spicy to take home and both were perfect!!
Cons:
The place is too small for the amount of business they will be doing. Came on a Saturday at a little after 4 pm and had to wait. That's unheard of for all other Indian restaurants on the island. It's very clean and hope it stays that way.
Highest prices of any other Indian restaurant on the island. I'd be ok with that if they gave you more chicken in the dishes (both eat in and take out). The take out had even less than the in house portion. They are charging more for butter chicken (made with chicken thighs) than Tikka masala (white meat). Maybe they will adjust their prices after a while? When I finished the butter chicken in the restaurant (I can never finish my dinner at other restaurants) there was a ton of sauce leftover. For $24 there should be much more chicken. Chicken thighs are roughly $2 per pound so I feel like I was ripped off! The portion of rice they give is the smallest I've ever received as well.
After the appetizers we didn't receive new plates so whatever is left on your plate mixes with the entree :(
The website and google says reservations are recommended but when we asked we were told that making reservations is very difficult??
We will definitely return but hope they work out some kinks and either give more chicken in their dishes or lower the prices.
The owner is super nice and gave us dessert for free! My mouth is watering looking forward to our next...
Read moreArt of Spices is easily one of the best additions to Patchogue Village. What an amazing experience! Wish I could have taken better pics but it was impossible not to dig in to the plate as soon as it landed on the table.
The food was absolutely loaded with flavor! It was hard to decide what to try but don’t feel we could have gone wrong with whatever we chose.
Tried two apps - Gobi Manchurian and Samosa Chatt. The Gobi was a crazy flavor! The sweet and tangy sauce was so good! Samosa was incredible! The pastry potatoes were such a delight. I could have just had that for my meal. The butter chicken was phenomenal. I dipped way too much garlic naan bread into it. The curry goat was so tender and delicious. It was falling off the bone. I was literally sucking the bone marrow out. So tasty! The Malai Kofta stole the show! I thought I would have preferred the meat dishes but the dumplings were magical. The sauce, exquisite! Most of the rice I ate had that sauce all over it.
Finally, the dessert - Mango lassi and Soft creamy juicy milk cake. I typically don’t eat dessert because of sugar but it was so worth breaking my sugar to try these two. The Mango lassi is sweet mango magic! And the milk cake was perfectly light and fluffy even though it has a cream on it. So good!
As far as the service, they had two guys cooking and one up front and was still on point. The gentleman up front apologized for the wait but to be honest, I didn’t feel like it took long at all. Especially for god everything was when it came out. If that’s a wait it was certainly worth waiting for.
I can’t wait to go back and...
Read moreI’m usually not one to leave reviews. Saw this place online while looking for Indian food in the area. The reviews for this place are amazing and for good reason. When it comes to authenticity this place hits it on the mark with deeply flavorful dishes from appetizers to main courses. If you’re a vegetarian, this place has great options.
As an appetizer we got the Samosa Chaat, depicted in one of the photos it’s multiple Samosas that are placed on a bed of savory and flavorful chickpeas, it comes with the works, different sauces and toppings that hit the spot after not eating all day. For our main courses we got the Chicken Tikka Masala, Jeera Aloo (a potato dish), and garlic naan.
A pleasant surprise was that main dishes come with aromatic and flavorful white basamati rice. Arguably the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever had the pleasure of entering. I got a mango lassi to enjoy as my beverage, a yogurt like mango drink which was pleasantly sweet, thick, and tasted fresh.
They have an impressive variety of Indian dishes, desserts, and drinks that you can’t always find here on Long Island and even Indian beer which my father said was great. The menu has wonderfully detailed descriptions of each dish so you know exactly what to expect if you’re not too familiar with Indian cuisine. The serving portions are generous, the establishment is nicely decorated and very clean. This place is in Patchogue just off Main Street.
The service was efficient and quick, attentive to detail and kind. Would highly recommend, it was a wonderful experience, and I would come back again in the...
