Warning!!! You might get addicted! Bird And Bao serves up some serious bao! The innovative menu choices offered make this place a Patchogue gem.
Located off Main St, paid street parking and a paid lot in the back of the restaurant. There is a back entrance to the building. Inside, the restaurant is very small. They have a few tables inside but I believe this is more of a takeout spot. It's extremely clean. The workers sanitize everything after each customer leaves their seat.
The prices are fabulous for what you receive! $15 gets you 2 huge bao, a bunch of seasoned fries, and a drink. They also sell the bao separately. The other menu items are also fairly priced.
The service was super friendly & fast!
The food was amazing and very addicting! The bao are the best I've ever had! The unique menu choices make this place even better. I chose to try the Bao Box: Nashville Hot Chicken & The Patchog which came with wonderfully seasoned crunchy fries & house limeaid. The Nashville came with a huge chunk of juicy chicken. The spicy Mayo went perfectly with the chicken. The Patchog was also fantastic. I liked both so much, I can't choose which was better. They're both 5 out of 5 stars. The beautiful pork belly mixed so well with the crunchy kimchi.
Overall, I can't wait to come back and...
ย ย ย Read moreI can't rave about this place enough. Choosing where to eat in Patchogue can be overwhelming, but this is an absolute must. The menu is small, but that makes it all the more delectable.
They have the option of tofu or impossible chicken for those who don't eat meat, and they prepare them beautifully. In fact, the wonderful Nutty Professor bun is already vegetarian! The Blackbird and Sweet Heat are my favorites, although you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose. They're the perfect amount of tangy but not overpowering, and you can enjoy every ingredient. Their spiced fries and the sauce are incredible, and their homemade limeade is as great as the meal itself. It's not too sweet and is always refreshing! The bao buns are so intricately made and never disappoint, and the staff is always kind and offer helpful suggestions. There's not a bad thing on the menu. I'm there several times a month and my family and I always turn friends onto it. Another fantastic small business to support in Patchogue, looking forward to many more bao buns (and cups...

Everything is freshly made and is worth trying. All sandwiches are a work of art.
Staff manages the place well because the place is clean, and the service is quick. Food usually comes within 10 minutes after ordering.
My favorite is The Patchog, whose main ingredient is pork belly. The Blackbird is also good. Itโs main ingredients are crispy chicken, black sesame and black vinegar glaze.
My least favorite is The Nutty Professor, whose main ingredients are crispy tofu, peanuts and peanut sauce. The sandwich is too bland.
I highly recommend this place if you are ever on the South Shore. It is a good place to bring a date or a group of friends without hesitation for lunch or dinner.
However, the place is relatively small. It looks โtake outโ.
There is also plenty of parking places available on the street or parking lots for a small fee. Patchogue residents park on the...
