UPDATE in response to the restaurant: That is 100% completely false! I was NOT refunded in full! Your restaurant offered to remake the food and that was it, not solving the problem! The problem is your horrible unacceptable choice in to-go containers and the complete lack of adequate food amount for the price! The containers are cheap paper, a step above rice containers at Chinese places but lined with plastic which functions as a sauna and keeps in all steam - which hold onto your seat! turns to water in an enclosed container! - resulting in my overly expensive, unappetizing looking food sitting and soaking in literal puddles of water! But yeah I shouldn’t be beyond appalled at the amount of money I spent at your restaurant for the “food” I received. The fact that you 100% blame DoorDash is despicable! I’m sorry that your staff is aware of these unacceptable issues and told me “yeah our food doesn’t travel well”. Not once did anyone say it was sitting at your restaurant a while so DO NOT make false accusations just to try to make your joke of a restaurant sound not liable! Oh and I find it absolutely hilarious that when we complained that a 1 meat meal with 2 sides is $15 and 2 meats with 2 sides is $30 yet it was 3 half ribs that were so burnt - not charred - and the joke of a chicken breast - oh and I broke it open attempting to feed it to my dogs, it was more dark meat than white but that’s fine $2 extra is nothing right? My dogs wouldn’t even touch your nasty food. But yeah continue to lie! My order was refund in less than half by DoorDash, your restaurant took zero responsibility and gave us attitude on top of it. Again, COMPLETE waste of money! DO NOT waste your time! You will be utterly disappointed!!!!!! Oh and the comment about buying a grill?! I find that extremely inappropriate and discriminatory - you are implying that I don’t have a grill nor can afford a “Weber” - maybe you should take your own advice since your food sucks. FYI, it’s not “slander” when everything I have stated is 100% factual. Maybe you should check your facts before putting things on the internet.
Beyond unacceptable. The 2 meat combo for $30 is less than enough for one person.I paid an extra $2 for “white meat” not even a quarter size piece of chicken. There were 3 ribs that were burnt not charred. Beyond a sad soggy excuse for barbecue. When you call and let them know that everything is soggy from their poor choice in containers, they tell you, “yeah our food doesn’t travel well.” I don’t get how that is acceptable! Get different containers or don’t deliver! The food just looks unappetizing too. I have never been so appalled by the complete lack of care when we called to inform them of our disappointment. I will NEVER order from this restaurant again nor do I advise anyone else to waste...
Read moreCreation can be initiated by diverse sources: Ideas, individuals, locations or a vague, visceral instinct or presence demanding progression. [Author’s Pause: The latter is not a reference to any form of apparition or Linda Blair-ish, soul-possessing activity. It is the inner self. Buddhist stuff.] For Eric Rifkin, owner and chef of Bobbique, the catalyst for his Patchogue-based presentation of barbecue, beer and blues was Memphis, Tennessee. “My cousin lived in Memphis, so I would visit him and just love to walk on Beale Street,” says Rifkin, who opened Bobbique in 2006. “Every place had culture with great food, quality beer and live music. I wanted to create something similar in Patchogue.” Rifkin, who developed his culinary interest as an adolescent caddy at The Concord Resort & Golf Club in Monticello (“I was tossed in the kitchen on a rainy day,” he laughs), aspires to provide Long Island with a slow-smoked, Memphis-legitimate menu of authentic pit barbecue. This includes brisket, ribs and hand-pulled pork and chicken dry-rubbed using Bobbique’s house-made seasoning, and wood-smoked until a pinkish-hued ring (indicates proper preparation of smoked meats) appears beneath the surface. This does not include attempts at imitation. “The best thing is when customers ask me for a second Wet-Nap because of our sauce, which is made in-house,” says Rifkin, whose resume includes stints at NYC’s An American Place, City Crab and Seafood Company, Halcyon and Lobster Club. “I would feel like a sellout serving nachos and quesadillas. You won’t find that stuff here.” “Here,” according to Rifkin, encompasses more than his menu. During location searches for Bobbique (named after his daughter Bobbi), Patchogue and its quality-first ethos was an instant attraction. “Patchogue has a rich soul,” he says. “The town has Blue Point Brewing Company and a flourishing music and art scene. When I found a building with a stage, I knew it was a perfect fit.” It is quite acceptable to lick one’s fingers following the...
Read moreUnfortunately, I’m disappointed. Booked a private room for my fathers surprise birthday. I asked if I could arrive early to set up-- no problem. I got there an hour before the party began, and there was only a hostess there. The room was not set up or clean. I had to wipe down the booth seats, and the floors were not swept from the night before. There was also a vacuum or something left in the room during our party, right next to the entrance. The young lady taking care of us, although very nice, was also taking care of the bar and the tables. Baffling. The food was not good. No one touched the baked beans because they were served cold. Paid for additional sides of French fries, which came out tired and mushy. Like they were cooked the evening before. I am plant based and was told I could order food off the menu, but I suppose that was never communicated to the staff because it was not offered to me. To top it off, my brother found a dead roach in his basket of fries. I immediately brought it to the servers attention, and she was clearly horrified. I’m just glad my father and most guests did not see it. The young lady offered us 10% off our bill. No where in site was there a manager overseeing the restaurant. And if they were there, not once did they come introduce themselves or come check in on us. (Only 25 people, not overwhelming). The woman who booked the party with us, Jenna, reached out 2 days after the party to ask how everything went.. I guess she wasn’t told. I emailed her back the same day, and I have never heard anything since. That was 10 days ago. Overall, I do not recommend Bobbique for catering a party or for dining at in general. It’s disappointing to say the least. We really felt like we didn’t matter in our tiny time slot of only 3 hours. I would like to give kudos to Chelsea for taking care of us the best she could, given the...
