. Rude Staff Avoid this Place at all cost!
If you're looking to have a lovely evening with your date, or on your birthday or any celebration, this place is not the place. Hoshi Sushi staff are very rude. You're better off diving your family a few more miles and find a place where the staff won't ruin your family's evening.
My husband and I ate an early dinner for his birthday, but around 8pm we felt like going out to Hoshi Sushi just for some rolls (trying to keep the diet). We sat at the bar order some sushi rolls, and this very rude Asian was interrupting us asking us if that is all we wanted!! I was shocked she was so rude, but tried to ignore her and i said ,"Yes for now." We were thinking of ordering another one sushi rolls (8 per plate) as we ate them. She then comes very rude again while we are still eating and very rude says, "That is all you want? water?" The second plate we ordered was spicy tuna and my mouth was burning, so I order water. Then while I was shewing my last piece of sushi roll--on the second plate (order), we were about to order another one when this Asian witch comes and shoves in our face the check (bill). SHE WAITED FOR ME TO PUT THE LAST ROLL IN MY MOUTH TO DO THIS, SO SHE LITERATELY STOOD THE BILL BOOK STANDING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF US AT THE BAR.
At this point, we were very annoyed with her because she was ruing a lovely evenings with her offensive tone and rudeness, so we decided not to order more and to leave. So as my husband is paying the bill, a group of friends at another table saw us. My husband’s friend came to us to say hello. So we all are standing there talking, and then another rude asian women (HUGE GAL) she comes and touches my harm and very rude asks me if we are leaving tips or not? This is because my husband wrote “cash” on the check for tips. I told her we were still sitting and we were not leaving yet. I WAS SO ANGRY AT THIS POINT IN THAT, HOW DARE SHE QUESTION US AND DEMANDS TIPS AFTER 1) we haven’t even left and we are busy talking to friends, and 2) after being so rude, I told my husband not to give them any tips.
So at that point we were very alienated, and as we were walking out the door, this Huge Asian again starts screaming at my husband about the tips. (really ? we only spend 10 dollars because you didn’t let us eat in peace). I turned around and told her, "YOU ARE RUDE! NO TIP FOR YOU!. We left and we are never coming back. They are not nice; they are nothing but low class with a fancy restaurant.
SIDE NOTE: The food wasnt that great, not sure why people like this place. I have been to china town in NY and San Francisco, and in Riverhead in main street in...
Read moreTook my in laws and family here today for an early dinner. We've been here before we enjoy the food and the show. Except tonight every rude person must of been on duty. First the Waitress took the orders in a rush. Mind you the place wasn't crowded at all. Had to stop her from asking everyone for their main orders. we wanted to order appetizers first. After we were done eating we were waiting for the dessert menu, instead they brought us the bill. I told him take the bill back we would like more drinks and we would like to order dessert. He apologized and took the bill back and showed is the desert. Mind you they only offer 6 items for desert. They only had 3 today to choose from. Last but not least he comes back with the bill my husband gave his credit card and filled in the "tip" section with a "0". He then put cash in the clear slip for the tip. The hostess comes to him and says how come you give no tip. He then tries to explain that it's inside. She gets louder and stills demands now a tip. Not only was this embarrassing to us but also The family across from us was saying she was rude to do that. My husband then gave her $100.00. She walked away. I followed her to the front and told her what just happened was very rude and that now I want the $100 back. I showed her the bill fold and the cash he had already put in there. She kept showing me the credit card receipt saying "0" tip. I told her. We were giving the top in cash not on the card. She couldn't understand. Then she apologized and i told her she needed to go to the table to do that. By this time my hubby and family were walking towards us. He was fuming mad. The other family across from us left nothing at all for tip !!! They couldn't believe the nasty rudeness that was going on. after she gave me the money back I then told her about the staff that waited on our table. The rushing us out no desert or drinks and handing us the bill while we were still eating. Very disappointing. Although we tipped them well. We always tip. But to let others know the word "tips" is : to insure proper service. If you don't then you deserve nothing. It's not something you demand you earn it. Tonight they shouldn't have gotten nothing. Just...
Read moreI went to this place for my nephews birthday. The front people seemed pleasant although we did look up the reviews and was not sure about the place we still gave it a try. When we were greeted at our table the lady serving us seemed to not understand anything we were saying. One of the girls told her she had a shellfish allergy and she seemed to not pay it any mind. Actually throughout the dinner they had to ask on more than one occasion which one of us had the allergy. Never keeping it in their head who it was with the allergy. Which I felt was really important. As for my experience, I do not eat any wheat or grains. I was really looking forward to some Hibachi steak but I asked if I could get extra salad or extra vegetables instead. She told me there were no substitutions only noodles or rice. I said I am sure it does not cost anything more to give me some extra lettuce but if it is.. ok I will pay extra, they would not accommodate me. I did not think it was worth paying $26 to just have meat and the small amount of veggies they give you. Our only option was to get rolls wrapped in cucumber. I have been to many many hibachi places and have never not been able to substitute my food. We also were unable to order a side of meat because you can only do that IF you order hibachi. Also, my nephews mother brought him a cake when we asked about cutting it up, we were told it would cost $20 extra for them to cut it for us. It was a very small homemade cake. It was free for us to cut it ourselves. I have NEVER EVER been told it was a ridiculous amount to cut a cake for us!!! I was very disappointed and will NOT be returning. I will also make sure to let...
