Hilltop Bagel Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Great Bagel Establishment. I placed a large order over the phone at 6am in the morning for 7, yes, 7 dozen bagels, and each dozen was different. That's 84 specific bagels in 7 bags, and they did it. When I called the store, A young lady answered the phone and repeated my words of 7 dozen bagels out loud, she asked me to hold, Danny came on the phone, and said I'm not sure I heard that correctly. Did you just say you want 7 bagels, or was that 7 dozen bagels? Yes, (laughing a little) I said dozens. I apologized for the short notice. We all forgot to call the day prior. So I awoke at 6am, hoping they would be able to accommodate us, and they were and did. They were great. Danny called me back a couple of times to ensure that everything we talked about was on point. They wrote on the outside of each bag was inside and gave us extras to share between us. It was perfect. Hilltop Bagel Cafe is an amazing place . To give you an idea as to the size of their bagels, They barely fit into a sandwich bags. Eighty four specific bagels ready in just a couple of hours. The bagels traveled back to Virginia with us and we will definitely be picking up more bagels on...

Hilltop deli is a small deli that is just not my cup of tea. I went there with big expectations since it was a best of LI winner. The selection was very small and none of the dishes were enticing. I got the breakfast taco and a BLT special. The taco was a dry pancake and the eggs were ok. Nothing to write home about. The BLT was ok. The bacon was crispy and lettuce was ripe. Roll was a bit stale. And coleslaw was nit great. Overall this was a disappointment. One of the other things that was a disappointment was that you had to order from your phone or a staff member would come out to you and take your if they are free. So you have to get out of your car to look at the menu which is a few pictures that are small and taped to the window or the place. Het back in your car and call them. The staff members were very nice but they never knew who got what order. Maybe it was an off day for a Saturday morning at 9 am. However there were not many cars that were there. I will skip this...

I wasn't going to write a bad review, but after reading all the other ones, I feel it's well deserved. 😁 I ordered a large acai bowl for $10 and this is what they gave me.. the poor kid behind the counter saw my face and said "they had me do it like this, I would've filled it up, I'm sorry" so I gave HIM a tip and 3 stars for being realistic. I don't see ANY honey, a tiny sprinkle of coconut, a couple berries cut up, and a half empty container? Come on now.. that's silly.. He's not the one running the show, it's not his fault. I've been there. He didn't ring me up for the coffee I made but I don't think he noticed because he didn't look up after that. He was embarrassed for his employers, who don't seem to care. I felt bad. As I was leaving to go to Poppyseeds Bagels, where I recommend you go, I saw the bagels being delivered. What kind of bagel place doesn't make their own bagels? Drive the extra 7 minutes to Poppyseeds...
