Shah's Halal Food — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Horrible. They never get their employees right. They used to have this guy who would be saying the N word here and there. Thankfully he is gone. But now, there is this guy that is just screaming to the employees as they are doing their job. The employees are being yelled at as the serve the food, as they do the cashier, as they do anything. Unfortunate and also uncomfortable for a customer to see.

He put some car keys in the tray where the employee was about to put my food, I don't know if it was with the intent to mess with her but anyways, that put a lot of bacteria on the tray. She removed the keys herself. He just stood there on her way as she was simply doing her job.

I don't know who this guy on the kitchen is, but it gives a horrible customer experiences for those trying to dine in. This location needs to pay more attention to who they are letting into...

Now I love the food from Shah’s, but the service and quality at this location is MUCH worse than any other i’ve been too (Holbrook and Wantagh). I have never been served sooner than 10 minutes after I walk into the store. As for the portions they give you either a quarter or half scoop of everything. I got the mixed salad and wanted some extra cucumber and the owner argued with me how “you already got vegetables on it” and went back and forth until I just gave up and he said “have to keep costs low”. He then gave me about 5-8 individual chickpeas and then told me that it would be extra if I wanted more. I suggest going to Halal City down the road, they have a BOGO deal and are much better in...

Disappointing Experience – Avoid This Place

I had high hopes for Shah's in Stony Brook, but unfortunately, my visit was a complete letdown. The service was incredibly slow, and the staff seemed disinterested and unprofessional. The food was bland and overpriced – definitely not worth the hype. The portions were smaller than expected, and the quality of the dishes didn't match what you'd expect from a restaurant claiming to serve "authentic" food. The place was also dirty, with unkempt tables and a lack of cleanliness in the dining area.
