I want to preface this with, in Chinese and grew up in Flushing, Queens. I moved to suffolk last year and have been on a quest to find good authentic Chinese food. This place is such a disappointment.
I ordered $70 worth of food through UberEats. I got bok choy, congee, roast pork, taiwanese sausage and 2 bao. The only thing tasty was the bok choy.
The roast pork was maybe a deck of cards worth portion size, and it was disgusting, for $15 with no rice. The congee had almost no meat, and like 2 tiny pieces of century egg, maybe a quarter of a whole egg. No flavor, and tasted stale and gross. The bao had very little filling but was passable.
The taiwanese sausage actually made me really mad cause I was expecting fresh sausage, but it's the dry cured ones typically sliced into small pieces for Claypot rice and the like, but they just sold the dried shriveled overcooked jerky texture sausage whole and they were a nightmare to bite into.
This whole meal was a depressing waste of $70. My quest for good Chinese food in...
Read moreThe first time we had Tao's was today using UberEats so I cannot speak to the atmosphere. I will start and say that the BBQ spareribs were amazing. Very fall off the bone tender. As for everything else - very lackluster to poor. We purposely ordered from this restaurant for the roast pork buns after watching Jet Tila make them on his show. They were extremely disappointing. There was only one 1/2 inch piece of pork in a mountain of a doughy bun. Now, I don't know if the bun lost its consistency because it was delivered but that doesn't excuse the measly portion of roast pork. The chicken wings we ordered were dry and flavorless. Again, this may be because of the delivery. However, there were no sauces provided for any of the dishes to offset. As for the Cold Sesame Noodles there was no flavor in the sauce. I can probably make a better sauce with PBFit. Unfortunately, based on this experience we probably will not order...
Read moreIt was my first time coming in the restaurant, Tony the owner was busy taking orders. But i said, i want green tea, i thought he wasn't listening but my green tea came right away away. I ordered dim sun, i was taught how to proerly eat it… as i suck the juice from the dim sum, my mouth was met with delusions juice, and i dip it to the sauce, it was so mouth watering pork dim sum. I sample picked cucumber salad, it’s delicious, and sample of organ meat , it goes great with the liquor, if your Filipinos or Americans, i give this place 2 thumps up!👍👍 I ate and drink the chinese liquor named Niu Lan Shan, it taste stronger than saki. I got drunk in one shot. Well, i have low tolerance of alcohol, but for people who wants to have a cozy and delicious food, this is the place. Friendly and cozy...
