Best Ice cream cakes ever! Carvel's cakes are the only ones in this entire country that have actually edible frostings in this day and age. All other types of cakes, made by any bakery anywhere else in the entire country, no matter the price or status, and almost without exception ever, always use lethally and monotonously sweet frostings that contain no flavor other than that of plain sugar granules so obvious that they can be grinded like sandy grits between teeth. Only one lick at such commonly found frostings, or even one whiff of their extremely pungent one-dimensional sugary smell from as far as many feet away, would be repulsive enough to elicit my urge to immediately throw them into the trash, along with the cakes underneath which almost always have similar monotonously bland and extremely imbalanced sugary taste.

But Carvel's ice cream cakes are the extremely rare exceptions, as anyone who has been searching far and wide for any cake that has edible frostings can attest to. Every time I eat a Carvel's ice cream cake, I can look forward to eating the frosting as much as the ice cream parts of the...

I've only been here twice. The first time I was here, I simply bought a serving of ice cream. More recently, I stopped in to buy an ice cream cake. Both experiences were very good. I really enjoyed the soft serve ice cream that I purchased during that first visit. I don't recall what flavor it was, but it was something unusual; different than the typical vanilla or chocolate that most ice cream shops are limited to. The ice cream cake was also good. It was nice to be able to walk in and pick from a wide selection of pre-made cakes, including character cakes seen in the old Carvel TV commercials. The clerks I dealt with both times were very polite and helpful. When purchasing the cake, the clerk was proactive in offering to add on a customized message and also offered a complimentary bag that was just the right size for carrying the cake box. The downside to this location is that it is essentially an enclosed ice cream stand that lacks seating. So, if you are coming here for an ice cream cone, be prepared to enjoy it...

What can you say about Carvel? Is the same product that’s been around since I was a child. Yes, over 55 years it’s been the same. That same familiar sweet taste of their soft ice cream, their vast array of different flavors of hard ice cream. Premade products in the coolers. And the quality is superb! You can always trust Carvel. I remember your original owner and his commercials on TV. My hat is off to the management of this store, your staff is impeccable they’re always kind and friendly and cheerful.
