O’Briens – A Must-Try Dining Destination O’Briens stands out as a top choice for lunch and dinner in Clayton, NY, offering a well-rounded dining experience marked by flavorful food and welcoming service. The bartender not only provided excellent service but also skillfully highlighted the day’s specials, making them all the more enticing. With a well-stocked bar featuring an impressive selection of liquor, beer, mixed drinks, and wine, O’Briens ensures that every guest can find the perfect pairing for their meal. The menu presents a solid variety of options, making it easy to find something satisfying. On this visit, the standout special was the Brisket BBQ Burger, a masterfully crafted combination of flavors and textures. The burger itself was perfectly cooked, its juices mingling with the smoky, tender brisket for a decadent bite. Thick, crispy bacon, melted cheese, crispy onions, and a rich BBQ sauce elevated the dish even further. On the side, a request for Cajun Fried Pickles proved to be a brilliant choice—their spicy, crunchy kick added an extra dimension to an already spectacular meal. The fries were crisp and well-seasoned, rounding out the plate beautifully. Whether paired with a cold beer, a well-mixed cocktail, or a glass of wine, this meal was nothing short of memorable. O’Briens is a popular spot for good reason—the food is exceptional, the atmosphere is inviting, and the staff ensures a pleasant dining experience. Whether visiting in winter or summer, this is a destination worth making time for. Be sure to ask about the daily specials, as they showcase the kitchen’s creativity and skill. A visit to O’Briens promises not just a meal, but a truly satisfying culinary experience.

What a great place, tacos were delicious and my husband a fish sandwich that was huge and very good. But really the service and the atmosphere are what really make this place memorable. They somehow made us feel like a part of the local crowd and everyone just kind of acts like they know you and make jokes and laugh with you. We had such a blast, makes us wish we were locals so we could go hang out. Sue, you are amazing, bartender, server and you really make that place a fun time. Thank you! And the view isn't too bad either. Pic was taken from our table looking out across the river as a barge went by.

This was a great place to eat for lunch with a wide variety of foods and drink. A fully stocked bar with a big selection of different beer and wines not to mention the makings for any of your favorite drinks. Lots of on road and off road parking. A very large dining room, some great views of the Saint Lawerance River. Many different forms of night time entertainment. The staff and owner we're a delight to have conversation with and trade old time stories. Weather your in this great beautiful area for a visit, vacation,or a full time resident, I'm almost certain you can't go wrong with a visit here.

Went here on 6/24/24.Server was attentive and pleasant. Food was good..size portion good.Prices little high for what was ordered. Calamari was over cooked. Went again on 6/24/24 for lunch. due to other family wanting to try the Reuben. Server was sufficient. Ordered and did take too long approximately 45 mins ..blt/ ck sandwich/ reuben / and ck quesadillas ordered. So another server brought out 3 orders (all but quesadillas). Mind you four people here who ordered. Looks at us And size? What did I forget something?? So my brother and nicely says yes. We ordered case to dioz and everybody has their food but that person. Server goes back into the kitchen. Comes back out and informs us that the cook. Never even started preparing the case to diaz and that they missed making them. So 3 people eating and 1 person sitting there. Watching everybody for approximate fifteen to twenty minutes not enjoyable. Finally as everyone is pretty much almost done with their food. They bring out the quesadillas..So I jokingly said seeing as everybody's almost done. This is free, right? And their server had attitude like they didn't make a mistake. And they shouldn't even give it half price or free.Turned me off to being treated like this and disappointed they didn't offer any discount..not even my drink free. Kinda rude if you ask me. Who wants to sit and watch everyone else eat when...

Does anyone else think $55.64 for 2 Haddock fish frys and 2 domestic beers is outrageous? Add the tip and were over $65. All for an 8 inch long piece of fish and 3 stalks of cold broccoli. We had to ask for the tiny little cup of coleslaw we did not receive, but advertised the dinner came with and told they only had one left. The food took forever to come to the table. I went to the kitchen envisioning our dinners were sitting there getting cold, because of how much time had past, 40 min. They were not busy with dinners at all. The bartender finally brought it and my broccoli was stone cold, no coleslaw, no bread. There was no offer to substitute anything or take anything off the bill. I'm a local and try and like supporting local business, but this was ridiculous. I will not return, suggest or recommend this place to anyone. In fact just the opposite. We used to frequent Obriens for fish frys and they were always slightly overpriced, but this just takes the cake. It was a week since and I'm still taken back by the price and whole experience. It was 7:20 PM on Friday. Maybe beyond what they consider dinner time, but they should have communicated that when I called ahead to ask if they were open for dinner and had fish frys. The piece of fish and Labatts blue lite were good and the fish was not as cold as the...
