We just left BWW - Clifton Park location. We arrived at approximately 10:40pm and they reportedly close at midnight. We were a party of two, just looking to get a quick bite as we’re traveling. Not looking to drink or get rowdy. We were seated at a high top table and we requested a booth in a quieter section, but our host told us we couldn’t be moved. There were two larger parties still actively sitting in that booth section mind you. When ordering, our waitress Gabriella informed us that last call for food/alcoholic drinks was at 10:50, but assured us we’d have plenty of time. We ordered a soda each, an appetizer, and we each got 10 wings. My boyfriends wings arrived pretty quick with the appetizer, and I complimented the speed. Gabriella commented: “that’s the benefit of being the only people ordering food now!” I didn’t take immediate offense to that comment. She stated my wings were almost done. I said “no problem!” Meanwhile, my boyfriend’s wings upon serving were cold, soggy, and definitely had been sitting awhile. Mine soon arrived hot and fresh. We still ate as much as we could and didn’t complain about the inconsistency. Gabriella came back minutes after our food arrived and asked us if we thought we were planning on having another soda, while our cups were still pretty full. We got the impression that we were being rushed. Meanwhile, the rest of the restaurant section was still relatively full with large parties, who were all drinking and being loud and none of them seemed like they were in any rush to leave. Now, my boyfriend and I both have/still do work in the bar/restaurant service. So we get it. Nothing is worse than large parties showing up and lingering til close. And we totally understand the sports bar atmosphere. But it was just the two of us, very quiet people who don’t complain or ask for much. Nor do we seem like the type of people to make a sty. Gabriella was sweet, but at the same time the small commentary and slight lack of accommodation made made us feel very unwelcomed. We felt like we were inconveniencing them. The inconsistency in food quality was disappointing enough. We were in-and-out in 30-35 minutes and don’t plan on visiting that particular...
Read moreHad an atrocious experience here yesterday. Sat down to eat with my husband at around 5:30 and we ordered two apps and each ordered a drink. I ordered a “passion fruit no-jito” and ordered it while saying the full name of the drink and pointing at the menu. Instead, I received a regular mojito, no passion fruit, with alcohol. This was a problem because I am 40 weeks pregnant. Fortunately I noticed the drink missing passion fruit before continuing after a few sips so I asked about it. The server confirmed it was a regular mojito. I was really kind about it to the server and asked to get the alcohol free drink that I ordered. Our apps were already out shortly after the time we got our drinks and we were not given plates, silverware, or napkins. We ate our apps and dinner with none of the above and no drink because I didn’t even have a water. My drink came as our food came out. Unfortunately I couldn’t eat my food as it was far too spicy for me, I wasn’t aware that the “wild honey mustard” that came on the chicken tender dog would be spicy as that wasn’t indicated on the menu anywhere. It was too spicy for me to eat unfortunately so I only took one bite of it and sat while my husband ate his meal. I could’ve had a few of his boneless tenders but didn’t want to because I didn’t have a fork or napkins- I’m irritated at this point I didn’t want to get messy as well. After being ignored for a while more we tracked down our server and got our bill. She asked if we needed a box and I explained that I couldn’t eat my meal. She apologized for not mentioning that it was spicy and said she hated that the menu didn’t let people know. I thanked her and then we got our bill…. full price on everything. Not even my juice off after being served alcohol at 40 weeks pregnant. I cannot believe a manager wasn’t spoken to about this.
No napkins, water, or silverware at a wing place? No apology for serving a pregnant person alcohol? No help fixing a meal someone can’t eat? Worst $70 we’ve...
Read moreDecided to check this place out after a couple of years of laying low, just to see what I've been missing. I have to say, the food was pretty great overall. Mind you, the atmosphere could use just a bit of a designer love, but I guess if you're going to a themed sports bar/restaurant for dudes, that's likely not a priority, LOL.
Started with the Hatch Queso and it was pretty good. The chips were fresh and crispy, in the queso was pretty yummy. I didn't care for the salsa that came on the side though. The flavor was like it wanted to be a medium salsa, but had not even a mild kick.
My main course was the All-American Cheeseburger. It was thick, juicy, and full of love. I have absolutely no complaints about it. In fact, I will definitely be coming back because it satisfied my burger itch. The meat was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and the cheese was melted like an artist did it. The pickles, lettuce, and tomato, all enhance the flavor of the burger. Sometimes "simple done right" is all you need.
But the star of the show for me, is usually the french fries. And in this case, they did an impressive job. The fries weren't too thick, they were perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and came out nice and hot. Everyone knows, that bad fries can ruin a meal, bit these will definitely have me coming back for more.
As a side note, the booths were separated with tall plastic barriers, the tables were more than 6 ft apart, and the wait staff all followed pandemic protocol. I felt safe, and I felt like the team there took it seriously. The wait staff wasn't the most attentive (waited a little bit for ketchup and a refill on my soda), but I'm not taking a point off because it was busy during a pandemic. Afterall, I'd rather they be slower and safer than fast...
