I was shopping and my son and I decided to go to Applebees Latham for dinner before heading home this past Sunday . I am embarrassed for Applebees! What a horrible experience . We were sat right away , it took the waitress over 25 minutes to come to our table. When she arrived we gave our drink order. My son wanted the Blue drink that comes with Whipped Cream and a cherry. Drinks came - No whip cream or cherry. I asked for it to be made how the menu presents the drink and she kindly did after stating she didn’t know i wanted a non alcoholic drink dirty ? Moving along it was time to order- we ordered . The appetizer took almost 45 minutes to come out and then an hour and half later still no food! I had to ask what’s going on? I was told staff is lie and the manager is on the cook line. I was there for almost 2 hours still with no food yet the tables around me that sat AFTER me had appetizers and food I spoke to the manager after waiting she came out from the kitchen and had a complete attitude. Was it because my son is special needs that we were treated differently With unfriendly service? If it’s the Food Line Then why does everybody have their food? Why are we the only ones with nothing? I have visited the East Greenbush Applebee’s and always had a great experience. I will say after this experience in Latham, I will no longer be a patron of Applebee’s. I am a single parent of a special needs teenager And it was a big deal for us to be able to sit and have a meal out together. To have it ruined by this horrific experience is something I will never forget. Shame on the manager that Had an attitude because I brought it to her attention what was going on! I had to take our food home and the food was disgusting. We threw it out. The waitress was nice enough to discount the bill. However, this experience was the worst dining experience I ever had. Never again! if you have a special needs child, I do not recommend visiting...
Read moreThe saving grace was our wonderful waiter. We went to this Applebee's for my disabled niece's 6th birthday dinner. We had 9 people, 3 with disabilities, and they put us at 2 tables across the isle from each other with seating for 8. We grabbed a chair and put it at the end of the table, we were at the last tables by the back door. A male employee stood by the back door peeking around making comments. Then came over and told us we can't have a chair in the isle, it's against corporate policy. My husband told him, come on the chair isn't out any further than the wall. The employee persisted. My husband said , well then maybe they shouldn't have seated 9 people at tables for 8. The employee says, oh you know there's only 2 tables for large parties here, you been here enough times... It was literally our first and probably our last time we will visit that location. My sister in law told him to go away and stop. He got offended and started making derogatory comments as he walked away. Then went over to a group of other employees and started talking about us, staring at us, had other employees looking at us. He was rude and ignorant and almost ruined my niece's birthday. Our waiter was amazing and made up for his ignorance. He went above and beyond. I have a food issue where I can't eat any meat, garlic, seasonings and had to ask for food cooked special or there was nothing on the menu I could eat. He got me salmon plain grilled, macncheese without bacon, and steamed broccoli dry, butter on the side. All perfect! Kudos to him! Also got employees to come sing happy birthday to my niece. As I said, our amazing waiter was their saving grace, the other employee should find a new...
Read moreI want to share my Birthday dinner and the customer experience at Applebees in Latham NY. Against my better judgment it wasn't the place I wanted to have my dinner. It was a place one person in our party wanted to go to. A party of 5 people 3 arrived and seated The last two joined the party 15 min later and ordered their food. However they had their food and eating before the other people in the party. It was basically ruined by the waitress and the Manager, Chris who was the Cook for that night. We ordered four steaks and was given one steak knife that we initially shared. When we brought it to the waitress attention. She brought 6 knives back to the table and laid them on the napkins. Just being Obnoxious! Two of of Steaks were cooked rare when we requested well done. Long story short. The manager was requested who was the Cook. He came out to the table with a bad attitude. An individual from our party explained the concern of the rare steak.Stating someone could get sick and Chris's response was no they can't. As a manager and a Cook he should know the importance of preparing food for others appropriately. I was waiting for a new steak to be cooked correctly and we were told by Chris to get out He snatched in haste the plates from the customers on table It was so bad he knocked over the little boys drink The next day I spoke with Brad the district manager and explained the situation and he really didn't care. Then I called the corporate office and spoke to an individual and I am waiting on return call within a couple days. We'll its been a week and no return call.
This was a terrible customer experience food...
