Starbucks Coffee Company — Restaurant in Town of Colonie

Location: 5☆. Clean. Like: not one coffee stain clean. Extras well stocked. Baristas kind and accurate. Snacks not dry. The competition for best Starbucks for me is this and Latham on Rte 7 near Vly, and I'd have to give this crew the edge for being nice after having to deal with hordes of Target shoppers.

But the actual coffee? It was OK, not great. Because, it's Starbucks®™️. I'll stick to tea here.

Now the coffee rant: Coffee flavor should exist on its own, but at Starbucks it can't, almost always over-roasted/bitter, regardless of strain/source. This reviewer normally drinks coffee black no sugar. We've got several quality coffee shop options in Albany like Uncommon Grounds, Stacks, 3 Fish, even Professor Java's etc., so why should I ever pay extra for a coffee to support this union-fighting corporation when their signature coffee item is significantly inferior to that from local shops anyway? Even Stewart's Speedway's and Cumby's coffees are decent enough to compete here if you're hard-pressed. (Put differently: If it was the only coffee available, and I really needed coffee, I might have another cup from Starbucks. Maybe. I waited three years before trying Starbucks; it was too soon this time. But I visit enough Starbucks with others to probably someday try again. If I do it'll likely be at...

I went in to buy a drink and I waited patiently in line and had no problem until I went and got my drink and a women Infront of me said " why does she get her drink before me is it because she is white". I am so disappointed because she said it very loud and no one said anything. I look white but I'm not I have a black mother and a native American father. I am disappointed that everyone heard and didn't say anything I felt so disgusted with the workers for not saying anything. I was very happy to wait and let people go before me I had no problem but because of this encounter and this experience with Starbucks I don't think I will ever buy...

All I wanted was a small dark roast coffee. But apparently they didn't have any brewed fresh because I watched the person fill my cup part way with dark and then finish it off with medium roast, as if I I couldn't see her doing it. If I had wanted medium roast I would have requested it. And if they didn't have enough ready to serve she should have let me know so I could change my order. I knew that bringing it up would get me "decaffed" if I asked for an americao instead, based on the demeanor of the staff, so I just took my overpriced coffee that I didn't want.
