Erie Canal Pickleball — Local services in Town of De Witt

I’ve had several disappointing experiences with this center. The staff and management are extremely inflexible and unaccommodating. As a member, I should be able to reserve open play, but after missing two sessions, I was suddenly told there was a penalty fee if i didn't show up after reservation which doesn't make any sense— something that was never explained to me at signup and is not mentioned anywhere on their website. They claimed an email was sent, but it went to my spam folder, so I was never aware of this policy. When I tried to play the same night and offered to pay the penalty at my next visit since I didn’t have my card with me, they refused and completely denied access. The managers showed zero understanding or flexibility, even toward a paying member. I recently played in a small pickleball tournament that was put on through a work event. The facility was immaculate. There was a friendly staff to greet you at the door, clean bathroom/locker rooms, cold refreshments and food to order available upstairs (with a view!). As far as the courts go, there is plenty of room outside of the lines to run and maneuver around. They have fencing separating each individual court which helps keep everything contained. The lighting was excellent and we never experienced any issues with seeing the ball. Overall a 5 star experience! Go check it out...

The facility itself is nice and a decent place to play pickleball, but the rating process is extremely frustrating and poorly communicated. I left because of how unfair and unclear the rating system was. Management doesn’t explain how it works upfront, and you’re left to figure it out on your own.
