On May 22 at approximately 12:05 pm my colleagues and I arrived to pickup our previously ordered and paid for lunches at the Fishkill NY Panera Bread and enjoy our there lunch during our lunch break. Our medical office has had a long standing history of ordering from this particular Panera Bread as it is convenient and has always provided excellent service.
I am a minority woman reaching the edge of young adulthood. My other colleges are older Caucasian women. We are all medical professionals and dressed in our scrubs for the day. I however, was the only one that was treated less than satisfactory. I am writing to express my deepest horror at the reprehensible customer service I received on this day.
When we arrived to pick up our to-go orders, 2 of the 3 orders were on the shelf for pick up. My order was emailed to me and the ETA was 12:09pm. It was then 12:15. It was still not ready.
An older gentleman came over and asked if I needed help. I told him my order was not on the to-go shelf although it said the order was ready. This man went to the right where the others were preparing the orders and looked around.
He came back to me and hurriedly said, "It will be out soon." He abruptly turned towards the cash registers and ignored me. I asked him, "Excuse me sir, what did you say? Is there an ETA? I only have 20mins of my lunch break left." He looked in my direction and turned back towards the slushy machines. When I asked again, the man barked loudly, "I said it will be out soon!!!" I replied, "Is there a time frame?" The man then shouted, "I SAID IT WILL BE OUT SOON!!! ITS ALMOST READY. THERE IS ONE. THEN YOU ARE NEXT!!! ONE! ONE! YOU ARE TWO. THAT MEANS THE NUMBER AFTER ONE!!!"
The three of us were standing in shock at this response. I immediately asked to speak to the manager. That is when the older gentleman that had been chastising my query as, the manager. When I asked for his name. He simply said, "Don".
I am horrified at the type of customer service exemplified by the manager at this particular Panera Bread at Fiskill. It is enough for my team, as well as our medical office and it's parent company to take our lunch business elsewhere.
I am deeply disappointed in my treatment that day. I'm not sure why I was the only one that Don snapped at that day. Was it my age? Was it my race? Was it my gender? Whatever the case may be, it left an immutable sense of dissatisfaction in Panera Bread and service...
Read morePanera has completely redone thier menu with all natural products and I am very happy they have. My family and I visited this afternoon at lunch time and the crowd was huge. We were lucky to find a table and wait for our meal and while the wait was lengthy, we completely understood why. When our food did arrive, we were missing the broth bowl I had ordered and the server informed she will get right on it. A second server asked us if we received everything as nd we informed him we had not and he got on the problem. After both servers checked in with us two more times each (again...the place was mobbed) they both said they would let the manager know.
After a couple minutes go by of us happily eating the delicious food that did arrive, the manager arrived with a refund in hand for our ENTIRE meal! Way above and beyond what was required and when we stated that the entire refund wasn't necessary she replied "yes, it is" and gave us her apologies. We had at no point asked for a refund.
Panera not only has upped thier food game, but the service as...
Read moreI have a twofold impression of this location. On the one hand, the staff is friendly. But on the other hand, I have a feeling that there are not enough people to work there. Or poor management. Very often there are queues at any time of the day. I have a subscription to Sip Club Drink and order drinks online. It's easy enough to put an empty cup with a receipt on the order shelf, but that almost never happens. I order online so I don't interrupt with anyone. It's especially silly to have to stand in line just to get an empty cup. It often happens that the counter is out of coffee. Or creamer. Or honey. Sometimes all of them. And then you have to go stand in line again to get something that should have been ready a long time ago. Or just give up and take what's available, because it's too much effort just to get your coffee. In addition- tasty food, but small portions for the money. Always on our travels we visit Panera when we want soup. Few...
