I had made a reservation online for a room with 2 queen beds as we were a party of 3 adults (My wife and I and one of our adult daughters). When we arrived on site to check in they told me they didn't have my reservation. There was also no "Hi', Hello, Welcomes, or any other niceties" from the staff. I showed them my confirmation email and she was able to find it in the system, and then told me that she could give me a room with 1 King bed. She was not very friendly and I felt like if I could not have shown the confirmation email I would have been sent on my way. Eventually they came up with a King bed with a sofa sleeper. My wife was upset and complained that this was not right. The woman behind the desk said she could give us a 1000 point bonus for our trouble but that was all she could do for us. Two weeks later and still no extra points.
When we got the keys to the room there was no explanation of breakfast hours or location, no pool or fitness hours, not even a "enjoy your stay".
We found the elevator on our own as they did not point out which direction to go, and it is right outside the pool. We waited for the elevator as it was very slow and right in front of us was a lady and her son also waiting. What we didn't notice in the cramped hall way was that the boy was dripping water all over the tile floor. When the elevator came it was filled with other people and wee moved back to let them out. Meanwhile the lady and her son forced their way in while the others were getting out. When the people finally cleared the elevator my daughter went to enter the elevator and slipped in a big puddle of water and fell on her knee and dropped all her luggage and computer. One of the people getting out saw what happened and offered to go get help from the staff. The one younger lady at the desk came and asked if everyone was ok and wanted to help but really didn't seem to have any specific training on what to do. She did go get a bucket and mop to clean up the water. The lady with the bad attitude came over from the front desk and looks around the corner and says "Did someone really fall?" Then walked away. she did come back dragging a long carpet runner around the corner against our legs and luggage to put down after the floor was mopped.
In the morning when we were checking out "Ms bad customer service" was at the front desk still. There was no "How are you" to my daughter, no "How was your stay", nothing.
My daughter is doing better but her knee still is sore, and limped for about a week after. I should have gotten the names and info for the witnesses and gone to see a Lawyer, but I figured someone would report the fall to management and someone would contact us, to make sure she was ok. Another poor performance from the staff. I am sure the management/ owners would have really had some questions when the lawsuit showed up on their desk, if I had gone that way.
The interesting part is every time I stay at a hotel I get a survey, and this was the last night for a string of 16 nights...
Read moreUpon arrival to the hotel there were about eight guys or more drinking cheap (b-light) beer out on the benches in front of the main entrance. This continued for at least a few hours until we went back to our room after dinner. Not really their fault since there was no other outdoor space in which to congregate. And not really the hotel's fault since they didn't have much control over it. Either way, not exactly the first thing you want to see when you are checking in.
When I walked up to the desk to check in there was nobody there. I noticed a couple employees standing outside talking, one of them was enjoying a cigarette. It took a minute or so before one of them came back in to the desk and the young man greeted me with "whats going on". I'm young-ish and would like to think I'm a cool guy, but this is still not the level of professional courtesy I expect from a major hotel chain. I could say more, but that speaks enough in the way of his customer service for the rest of the experience. It was nice that you could tell when he was working though, since he always parked in the one spot closest to the door.
The room itself was decent. You could tell it had been fairly recently renovated. But there were already problems developing in the bathroom from too much moisture and not enough ventilation. It will only be a matter of time before it needs serious maintenance attention. Apart from that the room was tastefully decorated and modern. Free wifi was nice although it seemed to cut out a lot so you had to keep reconnecting.
The bed was average. It seemed clean, but the pillows were pretty flat, and the protective mattress cover made a lot of squeaky noise when you moved around. The mattress itself was comfortable.
Breakfast was decent. The eggs were pretty terrible, but most other things seemed up to par with a hotel breakfast. The automatic pancake machine was a nice touch and tasted good.
The pool and hot tub area was nice, and one of the reasons we chose to stay here. Except for the fact that there were a couple of creepy guys lingering outside and staring directly at the women and two year old child we were with. So that took away a little bit from the pool experience. At least they did not appear to be hotel employees.
Overall I would give the experience a...
Read moreWhen I first visited this hotel last year, it was beautiful, had a great location, and gave wonderful customer service, so I decided to come back with my family for a week of leisure. However, everything has changed, and this was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. One of the owners got into a physical altercation in which the owner was quite aggressive and demeaning to the individual. And whenever you bring something to their attention, they don't seem to care. They have no sympathy for your situation, and I believe that as a hotel owner, if you lack the interpersonal skills required to interact with a variety of people on a regular basis, you should not be working or operating a business of this nature. During my stay here, I switched rooms since the room had a security precaution, and the door would not close. I had left an item inside my room, and I requested that it be returned. It is nowhere to be discovered. Nobody knows where it went, but the last place it had been was inside the room that I was staying in. I informed the staff, who included Nick and the two owners, and they didn't care. They had no regard for my situation; the owners were extremely rude & unprofessional they do not care about their guests; one of the owners even stated that they were not responsible. One of the owners informed me that he would not accompany me to the room to search for an item, and I was unable to do so either. And no guests were checked into that room, and management declined to assist me or offer a solution. As a result Calling the cops was my last option. The owner stated, I was to blame for losing my item, even though I didn't lose it. I have yet to check out of the hotel, so I forgot it in the room I was staying in. The hotel is filthy and unsanitary, and the housekeeping staff does a poor job. The pictures do not depict your stay at all, and the showers are dangerous and hazardous. When I took this up to management, they did nothing to address my little sister's slip. Everything has to be updated, and there is a lack of security. In addition to the hotel's unclean stairs, broken laundry, and terrible breakfast, you may forget that you have property in your room; housekeeping will take it, and the proprietors won't care about...
