I can't attest to the food. We weren't able to sit down and eat. Apparently Barbara felt as though our business wasn't needed and we weren't welcome in the establishment. Normally I love cracker barrel so my family and I were excited to be able to get to one (being that this is the closest one to us is an hour away!!). We arrived there at 9pm with 6 adults, 2 teens, 6 kids (ages 2 to 9), and 2 babies. When we got there, the hostess was so super nice... She told us that we could sit in this designated area, being that there were so many of us, and we followed her there. The restaurant was virtually empty with a few tables being occupied. After we got there and put a couple tables together, Barbara (apparently she's the manager, however, I can't imagine any owner letting her represent their establishment) started telling me that we can't sit there because the area was closed. She was so rude and nasty, it was truly unbelievable. I ended up saying that it was okay, but she doesn't need to be upset with me because I wasn't the one who led us to this area. The hostess tried to take us to another area, however, Barbara followed her saying that most of the areas were closed because they had already sanitized the tables and didn't want to get them dirty again. Barbara insisted that we split up into groups of 4 in order to be served. We told her that wasn't an option. We are on vacation with our family, that is a terrible idea. Eventually, Barbara put a table together close to the kitchen and then tried to put another table together next to the front windows. She informed us that the children can sit at one table and the adults can sit at the other. Keep in mind... Our children's actual ages are... 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 5 years, 6 years, 7 years, 9 years, 11 years, and 15 years old. Does that sound like they can sit across a restaurant without their parents?!?!? We told her that this was not okay and the restaurant was open for another two hours so they should be able to accommodate us in this FAMILY RESTAURANT. She basically told us that we will not be accommodated and we can take our service elsewhere. We agreed that we should go somewhere else. We all left and she said, "great, bye!". We asked for a manager only to find out that she was the manager, which is truly shocking. Funny enough, we saw some friends from back home who were appalled as to what was going on. We ended up taking our business to the diner next door and they welcomed us with open arms. We spent our couple hundred of bucks there and will never go back to that cracker barrel again. It really sucks that Barbara is the face of that cracker barrel. She taints the cracker...

June 2024 I have enjoyed going to Cracker Barrel for years but things have really change in the restaurant industry. Wait staff are extremely angry and vicious. There was one waitress who was pregnant some years ago. When I saw her working so advanced in her pregnancy I tipped her enough to buy something for her baby. She seemed to have forgotten me, although I have been coming to the location and asking for her. Today when I asked for water and said I was thirsty she came back with two glasses of water and said since your so thirsty.
It was late in the day and I asked for grits. When they came they look like a half serving that had been sitting around or was left over. it came with a spoon already in it!!!! I asked her to add some grits to the serving. She added some grits but when I tasted the grits they had a taste like they were watered down. it was like some old grits were hanging around that they took and tried to fix up and serve. I noticed that the tone of her voice changed during the service although she kept a smile on her face. Playing with someone's food or giving them food that you know is substandard is a cardinal sin. Whatever you do in life always comes back to you in some shape or form. This is why it's important to treat people the way you want to be treated. I want to add that during the service I never said anything vile to her. I called her by her name Becca. I said please and thank you.
I noticed that at the register the girl took it upon herself to do my rating for me..........!!!!!!! The store added a rating to the checkout process that she took the liberty to block me from doing myself. What would be the purpose in adding the rating if you're going to do it yourself???
On a prior visit I came in and asked for my waitress and she was not at work. I told the hostess that I would take anyone with (4 ) stars. The hostess went about talking with a group of wait staff about me asking for someone with (4) stars. A few of them left the kitchen and came and look to see who it was. I saw the hostess talking to a waitress that was serving about it and she had and angry, disgusted look on her face. That day I left and went some place else and ate.
I work a lot and as a result I eat out a lot. However, that is going to have to change because the industry just doesn't care anymore....and that goes for most...
Read moreI’ve eaten at Cracker Barrel’s all over the country and this one is a serious disappointment. There’s a reason that there is no weight. The food is terrible. The service is terrible. It’s dirty. They have gas logs in the fireplace that they can’t even be bothered to turn on we went for breakfast This morning our server seemed very nice but was totally clueless. Seem to have a couple of regulars who are apparently OK with the substandard food I don’t know how place like Cracker Barrel or IHOP can burn pancakes. We had three adults and two children in our party we order straight off the menu, the only substitution being that I wanted pancakes instead of hashbrowns for me, my steak came overcooked, medium rare. It was closer to medium well. Another person order the exact same thing, medium rare and got super rare pancakes. Every last one of them were burned on at least one side of them on both sides we were told the two best cooks were on vacation and the manager was back there any manager that would allow a single one of those pancakes to go out of the kitchen should be fired. Immediately. The quality of service was terrible when we got there we arrived and looked through the country store first, not a single table was seated. During the time we spent 20 minutes in the country store we could see not a single table with seated 20 minutes before order was placed at the table yet it took 52 minutes after our order was placed for food to come out burned and roll and during that entire time, our server just kept apologizing for, but couldn’t be bothered to bring us the fresh fruit or the biscuit basket so we had something on the table for two children to eat while they waited a ridiculously long time for substandard food, we visit the area multiple times and are not locals any longer and we will never eat this location again Cracker Barrel, as a whole has gone downhill considerably nationwide. I can say the store seemed much cleaner than the other Cracker Barrel and I think all the menu changes over the last few years have continued to lower the quality of the food and the menu has shrunk and what is offered at what times has shrunk, the only thing I can say about the store if nobody really shows up apparently they clean now if they could just get somebody that could cook and somebody that could manage they might have a chance to earn...
