I recently had the pleasure of visiting a gem of a coffee shop in Irvington, NY, and I can't recommend it enough! Owned by Hector, a visionary young entrepreneur with a deep passion for coffee, this Dominican-owned coffee haven truly stands out.
From the moment I walked in, the welcoming ambiance and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee made me feel right at home. Hector sources some of the finest coffee beans directly from the Dominican Republic, offering a unique taste experience that's hard to find elsewhere. Each cup is brewed with meticulous care, reflecting Hector's dedication and love for coffee.
The menu offers a variety of choices, catering to all preferences, from classic espresso to innovative coffee concoctions. I had my friend whose an avid coffee drinker, try their coffee, and it was absolutely divine—smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The attention to detail in every aspect of the coffee preparation process is evident, and it certainly pays off in the taste.
What's more, Hector’s commitment to bringing the best of Dominican coffee to the U.S. adds a meaningful touch to every visit. It’s not just about enjoying a great cup of coffee; it’s also about supporting a dream and a bridge between cultures.
Whether you're a local or just passing through Irvington, make sure to stop by this delightful coffee shop. It’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a top-quality coffee experience while supporting a passionate local business. Hector and his team are friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to share their passion for coffee with everyone. Highly recommended!

Read moreI recently went to Don Carvajal Cafe and I sure do have a lot to speak about !
I was visiting my dad and we went out on a father daughter outing. When we first arrived the parking was so accessible that we were able to park right in front of the cafe. Following that, we walked in to the place and it was full of customers. When we saw the menu everything looked so good we couldn’t decide what to get. We decided on getting the chicken empanadas, a latte, and an iced honey coffee ( the person at registration mentioned it was popular ?). The empanadas are a must that we even order a second batch for our table ( also has a sauce that compliments them very well ) plus my dad enjoyed his latte so much that he got a second one. I must say my iced honey coffee was good but it would’ve been better if it had more honey at least I didn’t feel like it had enough. Shortly after that I also ended up ordering yuca fries which we enjoyed and an affogato. Don’t get me started the ice cream it was so good !!
The atmosphere/vibes it self were good ! We did have to wait like 5-7 mins for a table (very normal ) and the wait for our food was a little long for the first round of food we got but that’s understandable given how busy it was
I honestly loved how welcoming everyone was including the staff + even regular customers. I would totally recommend going to visit and giving it a try. My dad wanted to support local and especially people from our culture. Dominicans !!! 🇩🇴☕️

Read moreUnfortunately , i wish i could write a better review but i left slightly disappointed. i rarely want to put out negative experiences but this just wasn’t a satisfying visit. First, of course the coffee is delicious, my partner and I both got cortados and they were great. We ordered the tres golpes, truffle yuca fries, and the beef empanadas. The yuca fries seemed a little undercooked (we probably should’ve asked them to remake them but sometimes in the moment it’s hard to tell if something is off or if it’s maybe just how people make their item), no truffle flavour, and this is purely selfish but I wish they used a better quality parm. The tres golpes was fine, I wish the white in the egg was cooked more, and for $16 for a plate of its size I think it should be a little more than just fine. For the empanadas, they were probably the best part but for the price, I can go to a lot of places and enjoy just as good empanadas at a better price. Again, I don’t usually like to write reviews like this but it’s hard out here. $55 meal before tip to feel like theres something missing throughout it. Pace should be faster, it feels like the food lacks that extra thought and effort; I think I could see myself one day in the future coming back but at the moment is was fairly...
