Google says “LGBTQ+ friendly”, DEFINITELY NOT the case. Never have I ever experienced such horrible treatment on behalf of my friend and I. Just came to watch a football game with friends, and my friend experienced homophobia. We were extremely friendly when we came in. We are all 26 years old, and when asked for ID happily obliged with our NYS ID’s (after sitting around for a long time when no one else was ordering, but tried not to read too much into it). The bartender proceeded to scan all of our ID’s which was completely fine. However, last was our friend. The bartender looked at her ID, and instead just eyed my friend who now has short hair. My friend has never had an issue with her ID even though she has had her hair cut short for years. NEVER, not when we have travelled in VARIOUS places, never. Keep in mind, I had a hat on and it was dark so my face was probably not as visible, yet I didn’t get questioned, and I also had short curly light hair in my picture and now have long dark hair. But I am stereotypically feminine. When my friend told the bartender she had her hair cut, the bartender kept looking at her and didn’t believe her. She asked for alternative identification even though my friend had valid ID. Scan it then. My friend has valid ID, and credit cards, and her attorneys license all with her name on it. We then left due to the disrespect, rude demeanor, and general judgmental aura from the bartender. Why would we want to stay after being treated so poorly. We just wanted to have a good time. We are on a trip for my birthday weekend, and had to have this ruin our night. My friend is an accomplished attorney who has been through years and years of schooling , she’s definitely not under 21 and does not even look underage. This is attributional ambiguity in its prime, and it was an experience that was extremely hurtful. You know when someone is being rude and judging you for something, and it was clear with her looks that we were not welcome. I never write reviews, but this kind of experience was truly horrible and I had to write a review so others are aware. Not LGBT...
Read moreHomophobia , terrible service, and horrible bartender. My friends and I came to this bar while on a trip in Sleepy Hollow so we could watch a football game. After sitting at the bar the bartender glanced at us and asked if we had ID while making drinks for another customer. I felt like she was giving me a bit of a dirty look but I brushed it off.
We all immediately took out our IDs and waited while she cleared empty plates and continued to serve others that walked up. When she finally came over to us she looked at both of my friends IDs and scanned them no problem. When it came to my ID, she looked at it and looked back at me multiple times. My hair on my ID was much longer and I explained that I had cut my hair since that picture was taken many years ago. She continued to scrutinize my ID, held it under the counter and then asked if I had further identification. It was very clear at this point that I was not welcome there. We left as none of us wanted to stay in that environment after that experience.
I am 26 years old, I have had short hair for years now and never once has my ID been questioned.
It is insane to me that this bar is advertised as LGBTQ+ friendly. I have never experienced anything like this before in my life and hope I never have to again. This was...

SUPER disappointed. I work 2nd shift on weekend nights at the hospital in Valhalla. Sometimes I like to go out to eat on my dinner break, but sometimes the flow of things makes it so I can't get out of the building until after 9pm. A few weeks ago in an effort to find somewhere with a kitchen open late, I found myself in Pete's for the first time in YEARS. It was about 9:30pm and I sat at the bar alone and ate while I watched a band setting up to play a bit later. I thought I would go there again tonight. I called ahead because the website encouraged reservations because they had another band playing. I was told that they couldn't take a reservation for 2 but I could sit at the bar. I was explicit that I was there on my dinner break and would not be hanging out. When I arrived, the bar was full and I reminded the hostess that I had called and she graciously gave me a table by the door. "Just a quick dinner only, right?" She said to me. I confirmed. I was there from 9:30-10:15. The band started playing at 10. I was charged $20 on my check for a cover charge. That's more than a dollar a minute I was in the building for the band. I will...
