I have the need to travel to Tarrytown on a weekly basis for work, one of the benefits to this is staying at the westchester marriott whenever they have rooms.
This is awesome because when I do stay, I routinely will have dinner here at Ruth's Chris. Why do I say it is awesome, for several reasons.
First, I typically sit in the bar area, which is where I prefer, mostly because Kevin and Matt are excellent at what they do, are extremely friendly, professional and almost instantly learned my preferences in food and drink. They also treat every customer the same way, at least from the times I have been there and witnessed them working. Thorough, professional and accommodating.
Next, the steaks. Always quality meat, served cooked to requested doneness and piping hot on those sizzling plates of wonderfulness. I typically order the t-bone because, it is sublime.
Then comes the sides, while they are extremely well executed, I'm mostly here for the steak. But the sides are typically served fresh, hot and plentiful. I will try to see if I can adjust the "doneness" of my sides next time in accordance with how they cook steak, I like my greens a little more snappy where they cook them to a little softer texture. This isn't a bad thing, the flavors and temperature are always on point.
The drinks. Once Matt or Kevin know what you like, and how you prefer it, they knock it out of the park. Typically get a Rye Old Fashioned, light on the simple syrup. Every time, sinc emy first order, it's been perfect. Matt also suggested I try the Michter's rye, that has been my go-to since he suggested (Thanks again Matt) although I wouldn't complain if you got some Dad's Hat behind the bar.
Desserts are good, no complaints at all, and I think I cycled through them all to try once.
But the steak and the staff is what makes this location stand out. From Kevin and Matt, to the servers, host staff and the managers who come around and check on you. Everyone is friendly, professional and, it seems, genuinely happy. What more could you ask for when away from...

My husband and I live in Oregon, so planning a rehearsal dinner across the country was quite a challenge. Catherine Vinci, event coordinator, worked with me via emails and phone calls to net a very positive occasion.
Catherine helped selecting the best room, formulating a menu, and coordinating details, all with much knowledge and expertise. She was extremely helpful.
Prior to our event, we met with Catherine in the bar and received excellent service from Matt, our bar tender. He was most kind, caring, and if you have never tasted his Cosmopolitan, you are missing out!
On the evening of our event, June 9, we had absolutely outstanding service from Mandi, Dan and Tenchlor. All three servers could not have done a better job tending to our guests and providing over-the-top exceptional service. They were highly attentive, personable, extremely kind, and constantly doing everything they could to make our event all and more than hoped it would be. They made us all feel as though our event was important to them, and they wanted us to have a wonderful time, excellent service and outstanding food.
I must also add that we were fortunate enough to once again have Matt taking care of beverages. Several guests wandered to the bar to ask him questions about his mixology. He was great!
Prior to our event, Diego was our server when we arrived in Westchester. Diego treated us with kid gloves and gave us a dining night to remember!
Before we departed New York, we wandered down to the restaurant for one more Ruth’s Chris experience. We were once again given exceptional service by Sal. He was highly attentive, personable, knowledgeable and made our last night at Ruth’s Chris wonderful!
The food at Ruth’s Chris was absolutely phenomenal and the service made it all that much...
Read moreWent yesterday for my anniversary and I must say I was so excited to go this Ruth Chris since its close to my job. Got a room in the hotel the restaurant is in just so I can have a memorable experience. I love Ruth Chris always go to one in the city and the one in LI and that’s 5 star this unfortunately only deserves one star because they gave us a wonderful cheesecake at the end. First when we sit down the restaurant was freezing and our waiter was the worst ever. Usually at Ruth Chris the waiters are attentive and caring but this man was sloppy dressed sweaty and we barely saw him I had to chase him down at one point. When I sat down I asked for bread took 20 minutes for it to come but it was burnt and hard. We both couldn’t even bite into it. I wish i took pictures I was so appalled that I got up seeked out a manager since my waiter couldn’t be found. Told him about my experience. My man said we should leave but I had faith that it must get better til my appetizer came 30 minutes later calamari which was soggy and wet. I sent it back just hoping my lamb chops would please make this night get better. But unfortunately that didn’t happen they was burnt and dry. I ordered medium well and only one of the three was this temperature. The other two was extra burnt. Since I at one I didn’t feel I should send it back. Plus I was starving so I just dealt with it. I had better lamb chops at Outback at a cheaper price. My man did say his stuffed chicken was good so I was just happy he was happy and filled myself up on my cold creamy spinach. At this point I just wanted to leave so we had to chase the waiter down to get our bill. Best part of the night though was the cheesecake and ice cream crumb desert that they gave us for our anniversary but other than that I wish I took that ride to Long Island where I know we would have had great service and great food. No I will never go back 180 bucks down the drain...
