I've been a member of BJ'S for over 5 years, and just recently, as well as yesterday my membership card keep getting suspended! This particular suspension only means that I cannot go to self check out to pay for my groceries ect.....As a result, I have to wait on a long cashier line to purchase my items! I know this is happening for 1 or 2 reasons. The first reason is: One day I parked in the handicap spot at BJ'S just like everyone else does when there's limited spots available. When I came out of BJ'S I realized I had a ticket on my windshield. DONT FORGET THAT THIS LOCATION IS NOT QUEENS COUNTY BUT NASSAU COUNTY. This is my first time getting a ticket for being parked in a handicap spot, but when I went to Traffic Court at 801 Axinn Ave, Garden City, NY 11530 I was told that the ticket is $350 dollars! Of course I requested a hearing, in which they wouldn't allow, but long story short, this could be why things are happening by surprise! Also, now in BJ'S parking lot you see Police officers on horses all of a sudden! Second reason is: Since I got approved for the BJ'S one Master Card which gives 5% cash back on BJ'S purchases and 2% cash back on everything outside of BJ'S, it's been tension in the air, only because I shop alot which means I'm always getting cash back!!! By the way, BJ'S is NEVER ACCURATE when it comes to my cash back rewards as stated herein. One time I had to go to the BJ'S in Gateway Mall to get what was owe to me being that home office didn't help, customer service didn't help, and of course my BJ'S definitely wasn't trying to help! Long story short, the Store Manager at Gateway gave me a $50 dollar gift card instead. It was hell to even get him to show his face, to the point Police in the store started watching me because I was getting so irate! They kept sending different employees to me even though I was requesting the store Manager. A $50 dollar gift card is different from $50 dollars cash back because now I'm spending from the gift card instead of my Master Card, most importantly there's no cash back rewards for using a gift card. BJ'S don't wanna provide the cash back rewards for members that shop alot! Most importantly, for someone like me that knows how to add! These are the (2)two reasons why BJ'S keep suspending my membership card! Yes, this happened more than once. The first time I informed a white guy that I never saw before, yet in still he was a Manager. He told me that the "suspension is camera verified", I then asked him "whats the reason for the suspension"? and he stated "we run the store"! In other words, my card was suspended for no reason. This white Male had the authority to lift the suspension but did not. My other option to get this lifted was to have Andrew, the employee who reviews the camera relating to suspensions. That day it just so happen that Andrew was on vacation. I left and the next time I came back, a black female lifted the suspension for me! Everything was cool until my next shopping experience, when I realized my card was suspended again! This time a older lady that works at BJ'S acted as if she was trying to help but was actually trying to swindle me. She asked if "my membership I.D number matched my Master Card number"? Even though I explained to her that the suspension was lifted and now it's back, she played dum and tried to blame it on something that has nothing to do with the suspension. Long story short, they're trying to indirectly prevent me from shopping because they always have to call a manager to override the suspension, so that's when they start playing dum as if they can't find someone to override the suspension, in other words they're trying to prep me to except them telling me"we are unable to let you purchase your stuff because nobody's here to override the suspension!...
Read moreOn Sunday, June 7th I went into this Bj's location a little after it opened. It was my daughters birthday and I had pre-ordered a cake on Friday so that the pick-up process would be faster and that I could receive the cake around when the store opens (9 A.M). Upon arriving there was obviously a line due to the new pandemic norm however, I was able to get in rather quickly.
The problem arose when I went to the bakery to pick-up my daughters cake. I spoke to a young man over the bakery counter in the back and asked him about my order stating that I had a 9 A.M pick-up for a cake I had pre-ordered. He said rather rudely that they didn't have that order there despite the fact that I had a confirmation number. I asked if he could come a bit closer so I could show him the confirmation number or at least relay it to him so that I could have this situation resolved. He remained in the back and again, he rudely said that he couldn't because he didn't have a mask on. Mind you, he works in the bakery area around food, why doesn't he have a mask on especially during a health crisis? I simply said that if he maintained the required 6 feet that there would be no issue but he brushed me off and told me to just fill out a form (a cake order form which I had already done online and had a confirmation number for) and paid me no attention. In addition to this individual, there were two young women behind the counter WITH masks on that could've come over to assist me but instead chose to stand there and watch the situation unfold.
Thankfully, the very kind baker by the name of Patrick came over (with a mask on) and asked me if I had any issues and helped guide me through the process of filling out the cake order form. His professionalism was a stark contrast to his fellow co-workers and in my opinion it's employees like these that help uplift a company and keep costumers coming back.
Afterwards he personally took the cake order to the back so that a young lady (one of the young women who stood and watched the previous situation unfold) could write Happy Birthday on the cake. I stood there for almost 30 minutes waiting for her to bring out the completed cake and when she came out, she just tossed the cake on the counter and walked away. The level of un-professionalism just kept on coming. I asked her politely if she could put just 2 roses on my daughters cake and I got a hand to the face. I was stunned that someone could be so rude and dismissive to a customer especially since it was out of no-where and gravely uncalled for. I work in customer service as an essential worker and despite the stresses that come from being in the middle of a pandemic, a mutual respect is needed between both parties not what this young lady displayed to me.
I went to the manager on duty named Yesenia to make a complaint and she personally walked me over to the bakery so that I could get just 2 small roses on a cake. Afterwards I was walked to customer service and she checked me out. The fact that these events could even occur is so problematic. After this encounter I don't think I'll ever return to this location, much less shop at...
Read moreMe and my sister decided to stop while driving by, instead of going home and going to one close by home in long Island. This was iur worst experience ever shopping at a BJ'S store. It was all due to a manager there by the name of Shakeel, he has nothing professional about him to be working in customer service, resolving issues or even having simple conversation with customers. We cash out, everything went through the scan and price was quote to us as we scanned, mind you we had the assistance of 2 employee because of issues were having scanning the items. We cash out, when we got to security we were told rudely some of our items weren't scanned. That was when the Manager was called Shakeel. Trying to ask him questions as to why, he kept saying "relax, relax" with and aggressive attitude. We remain calm. He dropped my donut on the floor then went on the put it back our shopping cart, I had to ask for it to he removed. Asking questions he let us know angrily, "he should not even be going through this and he can go run his camera." My sister in returned replied and let him know, if something is wrong this is your job, what do you mean. He repeated exactly what he said the 1st time, as if insinuating were stealing. We had to get loud and tell go rum his camera. Him Being the disrespectful manager he is, walked away cursing at us without even resolving the issue. I was only able to get his first from a staff, Shakeel. My worst experience, due to a staff/manager who clearly needs training on...
