Dolce Gelato — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Cute neighborhood gelato shop open late for after dinner sweets. A huge plus is they have a small outside patio sitting area and two restrooms (though one was out of order when I visited). They also have some seats inside.

I sampled the hazelnut and forest fruit flavors. They were okay but tasted kind of light and not very creamy or strong in flavor. I ended up asking one of the employees what her favorite flavors were and ended up getting those two flavors in a small cup. I ended up getting Ferrero rocher and pistachio. Those two flavors were actually very good, creamy, and strong in flavor. In the Ferrero rocher, there were small pieces of chocolate which gave the gelato a bit of texture differentiation. My wife wanted a gelato ok we go to Dolce Gelato, she saw the brioche. So since she was a little girl that’s way she’s eating in Italy we also go mostly to Brooklyn at Villabate on 18 Ave and other places and always when they fill it up they use a paddle scoop which is how they do all the places. Well this place was using a paddle for all the other cups and take away box’s, they use a ice cream scoop little balls and I ask is that way you fill it up and they yes it was empty $8.36 for 2 pebbles of gelato are they kidding. I never ever write reviews but this is a must I walked in to buy gelato and tried the Bailey and biscotti gelato it was out of the world soooo good I purchased four gelatos. I couldn’t buy one for my son who has autism bc he doesn’t eat sweets. I had just bought him a happy meal and I kindly asked the ladies working if it would be okay if he ate his meal inside the as we enjoyed our desserts. They were soo accommodating and caring and loving. They said yes He was soo happy. Dolce has the most respectful and caring people working there. You all definitely made my night.
