Farmer Joel's — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Went on my lunch break. Waited on line 10 minutes, the person behind the counter randomly decides the line is actually on the other side of the counter despite 2 people ahead of me ordering a minute ago from the line I was waiting on, they decide to let 2 regular customers skip me. At this point im about to walk out but this is my only lunch break and I’ve already wasted a lot of time. Old guy starts waiting behind where the original line I was on, old guy behind the counter calls the guy behind me by name and again attempts to skip me, I say ‘excuse me, I’ve been standing here and haven’t ordered yet’ and he acts like he didn’t know I was waiting even though we made eye contact numerous times and he clearly saw me standing and not ordering. He tells one of the woman behind the counter to make my order and she starts. It takes about 10 minutes to make one sandwich, the lady making it is chatting with customers and can’t make a sandwich and talk at the same time so she’s just standing there talking while my sandwich sits idly on the counter. By the time I get out I check my clock and 32 minutes has passed since walking in, I have to drive back immediately and don’t have time to eat. There was 4 people behind the counter and an unknown amount in back and it still took an unreasonable amount of time to make the food. I won’t be back because I don’t have a half hour to waste to get deli food but 2 stars because the price was reasonable and the food wasn’t as terrible as...

I went in today to pick up 2 hero’s. My yhusband is the one that usually goes in there. He usually goes at lunch time. He lives the sandwiches. He had to work today and he asked me to go I. There and pick up 2 hero’s, a Hidfsther and the Oceanside Sailor. When I got there late this afternoon I walked in went to deli counter and one guy had just walked away and I waited a min and the woman said can I help you, I told her what I wanted and she was furious, was rolling her eyes shaking her head waving her Hands, she grabbed the salami and threw it on counter and she was talking under her breath. I said Yeah busy today , your probably exhausted. She said were done at 3, I actually didn’t even know what Time it was . The doors were not locked, no signs on the door with there hours. Just a sign with super bowl package. There was a guy working With her so he made 1 sandwich and she made the other. She was so rude , if I was her boss I would have fired her. She has some nerve to act that way to a customer. We are the ones keeping her working. I told my husband and he was so Shocked . I’m sorry she was overworked today but that is still no reason to act that way. I doubt I’ll go back...

Gave this place a second shot and both times came away underwhelmed. Both times I ordered a hero and can simply say that while they were decent sandwiches, I have been to 50+ delis that were better. The first time I asked for Russian dressing only to get a trip of ketchup on one side of the bread, a strip of mayonnaise on the other. If you don't have, just say so! The second time my hot roast beef was nuked beyond recognition to some sort of post-apocalyptic grey. Only the toasted garlic bread hero salvaged the meal. They have a solid neighborhood following, and I'm sure given a few more shots I'll find something to my satisfaction, but at $10+ per sandwich I'll be...
