I normally take up my gripes and issues directly with a business but given my horrible experience as a brand new customer today, I wanted to share it with others. I host Christmas each year at my house and since I work full time I thought I would cut down on prep time by ordering chicken cutlets for the Christmas chicken parm. My cousins came over and we taste tested 5 different places and landed on Seven Brothers as the winner. I went this morning to go place a pick up order so I could have the items I needed ready and paid for. I live 25 minutes away so I took the drive down this morning to take care of it. I walk in and go to the counter and explained I needed an order for future date. The man told me to go talk to the women behind the other counter to handle the order. It was a small pick up order so I was confused why I needed the catering person. I walked up the other counter so I could find the right people. The first woman I spoke to explained I had to wait for catering so I sat down at the small table next to the cashier. The other woman sits down and asked if I knew what I wanted; which of course I did as I had explained now to two people it was a small order. When I told her the items she immediately goes - this isn't catering. I said, I know, it is a small order. I work full time and just wanted to have it placed and paid for so I could come grab it and save some time. The last thing I want to do is wait in line on Christmas Eve morning and not get exactly what I need. This woman was so off putting and rude towards me that I started to feel a little strange. She did not ask where I came from, how did I hear about them, and clearly was not interested in understanding how I came to them. Great business skills! She said to me, we don't do that, in a very off putting tone. She said I would have to come super early Christmas Eve AM to get the items. I asked her if there would be enough as I wanted to make sure I would be able to get exactly what I want for my family. She scoffed at me and said of course but, it was not what she said it was how she said it. Feeling a little annoyed I decided to get a few items to bring home for my family for dinner. Another customer actually came up to me and told me if I needed good cutlets to try another place just up the road. Again, I am already feeling very strange in this store and then one of their own customers is telling me to go elsewhere. I grab a few items and put them in my basket. I go back to the counter with the rude ladies and I stood there waiting while the rude cashier person and the rude catering woman had a nice little chat. Are you kidding me? I am a brand new customer and you are treating me this way? Finally, the woman tells me I can put my basket up here "sweetie". There is nothing sweet about this whole experience. She rings me up. After that there is no thank you, have a nice day, or we hope to see you soon. Is this how you run a business? As someone who works in a retail business where customer experience is key to driving revenue, I am baffled that the owner is okay with this type of behavior from their staff. I guess you all have Kardashian money and you don't need to care how you treat people. I will never give this business my money or time of day. Seriously, go...
Read moreFind the harshest punishment you can imagine over using Seven Brothers in Oceanside for your catering needs. For example, if you had the opportunity to gauge your eyeballs out with a rusty nail, or spend the winter in Siberia with a tee shirt. I have been to this establishment when they were in their prior location- quaint, family oriented, friendly, but with their big move, came the big loss of customer service. This establishment is as welcoming as a neck and shoulder rub from Bill Cosby. I was placing an order for a future dinner with my in-laws (which is just as rough as the service I received from Seven Brothers), and after requesting help from 4 different people, I was passed off to two young teens who thought TikTok was more important. After seemingly interrupting them, I was told that I should've "just asked" for help.... Are you kidding me?? I was in the store for 30 minutes already, but still didn't lose my cool and gave the benefit of the doubt as the holidays are coming. A woman came from the back to help, and smelled worse than a Vegas Casino reeking of cigarettes and coughing in my face. This again is my fault giving the benefit of the doubt, as I continued to sit with her. We went over a small menu, and I picked what I wanted. I left a deposit and was on my way. Fast forward to a week later for my pick up, I did not receive a call to confirm or unconfirm for that matter. I visit the store, and my order was nowhere to be found. I brought in my receipt, and was told to wait which I did. None of my order had been prepared, as my ticket was "lost". I had spent time, money and my sanity and had received nothing in return. Oh, I did get an "I dont know what to say maam". Not even an apology, a Thank you, a F you. Nothing. Do yourself a favor, don't bother trying to place an order with these people, you may cause their brains to...
Read moreWe came here for the infamous Pickle sandwich. It was super funny to see a special pickle line! We got 2 pickle sandwiches, one classic Italian combo on a hero, an order of macaroni salad, and a small container of egg salad. Everything was delicious. The pickle sandwich was different. It was fun to eat. The macaroni salad and egg salad WITH the pickle sandwich definitely elevated the taste of the pickle sandwich. The Italian combo was delicious and classic. Everyone who worked the back was hustling and working hard. They were constantly bringing out fresh trays of different salads (which is what made me order the macaroni salad because a fresh tray came out.). The macaroni salad and egg salad was outrageously good. I could be bias because I haven’t had good American salad in a long time. Maybe I was deprived for so long, but I enjoyed all of it!
We were a bit confused by the different lines. We were ordering from the pickle and sandwich line, but then other people were ordering from the opposite side. I’m not sure what the difference was. In the end, I can see why people love this place. It’s a good place to come to after the beach!
Is the pickle sandwich worth the hype? I’m not sure, but it was fun to try it. The macaroni salad was really good! I would totally go...
