I booked an appointment via Instagram for 9 AM for a single process, glaze, and blowout, but when I arrived, the front desk insisted my appointment was at 1 PM with no explanation or apology. The receptionist acknowledged that she saw my Instagram messages confirming 9 AM, but all she did was state that I was put in the system for 1 PM. She didn’t admit it was a mistake—just kept repeating the same thing, which was incredibly frustrating.
This was my first time at the salon, and I was excited to try it after moving to the area. This happened two days before my birthday, and since I have a lot of greys, getting my hair done was incredibly important to me. I became overwhelmed and started crying, which is completely out of character for me, but I felt flustered and helpless.
While I was really upset, I do want to acknowledge that the stylist and the girl who washed my hair were doing their best to make the situation better. They seemed to genuinely care and were trying to help, but at that point, I was too flustered and emotionally overwhelmed to really appreciate their efforts.
The receptionist, however, did nothing to de-escalate the situation. She just kept repeating the same thing about my appointment being at 1 PM, with no sense of apology or acknowledgment that a mistake had been made.

Despite clearly stating that I wanted dark brown hair, my hair turned out black—exactly what I said I didn’t want. At that point, I was so upset that I skipped the blowout and just wanted to leave. If it weren’t for my upcoming birthday, I would have walked out the moment they messed up my appointment.
The receptionist should have handled the situation with more empathy and accountability. A little care and problem-solving would have gone a long way in making this a better experience.
Overall, I left feeling ignored, frustrated, and extremely...

My hair turned out amazing and lasted throughout my wedding day and night. The amount of stress surrounding my bridal hair evaporated as soon as I looked in the mirror, allowing me to enjoy the rest of the day knowing my hair was perfect and my make-up was flawless. I cannot...
