Joey's is in a section of Lynbrook with somewhat tough parking. It's facade shows it's longevity. There is an eating area that for sure needs a face-lift. Despite its age and wear, it still looks clean and sanitary. Menus are cluttered. There is a freezer with Togo foods. As I've only been once despite living in Lynbrook for almost 20 years, I've only tried the pizza. When ordering, a woman seemed to be a little short tempered as she had to break away from what seemed to be a catering order. It appeared she was wearing her pajamas. The gentleman who took my money was far more pleasant. This pie is somewhere better than domino's or dollar pizza, but below other pizzarias that would charge double. It's certainly wasn't bad, but also misses the mark for anything better than ok/fair. The sauce lacks flavor. The cheese could have been heavier. The dough was OK. It seems they use cornmeal underneath the pizza for some reason, which leaves a texture I'm personally not fond of. For $10, this isn't bad as you could feed 2 people with a pie. However, I wouldn't go out of my way for the pizza. I would return and try one of his meals which are also...
Read moreI ordered a tray of eggplant parmigiana on Thursday through instagram for Friday. I was told through instagram that a ticket for the order would be put in. It wasn’t. Got there and order wasn’t put in. There was never an apology (sorry is pretty easy to say) about the order not being placed and we had to wait about 20 minutes (on my daughter’s birthday) for it to be made. Tasted OK but since it was a grab and go deal it never settled and didn’t really stay together nicely when cut. Price was about average but quality was below average. Now an apology is minimal and I didn’t even get that but, a business owner with good people skills would have compensated a customer in some small way. Nope full price not a dime off. If this was the old Joeys first of all this never would’ve happened. Tray would have been there ready and waiting hot and delicious. Ok mistakes happen but acknowledge it and don’t make a customer feel like you couldn’t care less about them and their business. I ordered ahead so I wouldn’t have to wait. Definitely not a good first impression so not so sure if I’ll bother to...
Read moreBEST DEALS IN TOWN, BY FAR! I called Joey's the other day for the first time to try his specials and have it delivered to South Hempstead. I ordered 5 of his frozen meal on special for just $30. plus when we bought this we could also buy a large pizza for only $7. more! Delivery in the area was $5. so we got 5 single meal trays, a large pizza and had it delivered, $43 bucks, wow! To be honest, I can eat anything and call it good but my Italian wife is very, very picky when it comes to the food she eats, especially when it comes to Italian food. Well my Honey loved the food as much as I did! The sauce that Joey's uses in his single meal trays were all very mild and all the different trays we tried were just delicious. The pizza is super thin and crispy, with just enough toppings to make his pie delicious as well. For the money, you cannot beat the food for the price! Joey's is a keeper in our book, for sure we will order again. If you're looking for a new place to try, and do not want to spend a fortune, Joey's Pizza...
