LaRosa's Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I've been going here since 2004. Today was the first day where I realized there is no respect at this place. I came in today, was behind 1 customer paying for his order. Once I made it to the register (I was the only guy standing up), gentleman (maybe in his 30s Caucasian) decides to walk away from the register to talk to his lady coworker. Maybe they're related who knows? There was no response or any empathy reply such as "one moment I'll be right back", or "I'll be right with you." I was so confused. This guy behind the register simply looked at me and walked away as simple as that and just started talking to his coworker a few feet from me. I gave them a good minute and even the workers there wouldnt bat an eye at me. I looked left, looked right. I am debating whether this was racially motivated negligence. Nevertheless, there's no customer service or respect here. I walked away. Was about to order a Gramma Pie and a few side orders but was taken aback at how I was the invisible person at the front register. I would advise to brush up on customer service skills because you just lost a customer and my neighborhood as customers. Best of luck...

Horrible service and they robbed our money. My son and I were driving home on a Saturday night and we were starving, so I had to stop by the nearest pizzeria for him. I paid the full price for a pie of pizza and chicken rolls with my son. They took the money, and told us to wait for it to be done. We waited for what seemed like HOURS. When we tried to go back and see if they were done, all they had to offer was a single slice for us. They hadn’t even started with our order yet, and we kept having to remind them. It was absolute Hell. They were busy attending to other customers who came in later than us, and they completely ignored my son and I. We ended up getting the pizza, but not the chicken. They told us to wait again for the chicken, but it was taking so long, and my son was so hungry. We couldn’t stand to wait any longer, so we just left without the chicken. I live in hempstead and this is the closest place for pizza. I only go there instead of driving more than twice the distance to other pizza places in elmont and floral park for much better pizza when I'm too lazy to drive the extra distance. I've been to LaRosa's more than 20 times and I only have the regular pizza. I haven't had other items there so this review is only for the regular pizza. Their pizza is not good. It tastes exactly like a frozen pizza and I'd rate it a 6 out of 10. There were even times that I got there and a fresh pizza right out of the oven was available and it still wasn't good.
