Martino's Pizza of Elmont — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Jennifer the waitress was super rude and cold. I met my two kids and their father for dinner . I pulled up a chair so that I can sit with my family . Jennifer the waitress seemed put off that i pulled up a chair instead of sitting in a crammed spot next to the wall. She didn’t ask if I wanted to order , didn’t ask if I needed anything at all in fact she didn’t acknowledge me at all. She stepped on my foot and knocked my bag over twice while walking past the table. She didn’t say excuse me or I’m sorry, just pretended as if it didn’t happen. Even my eight year old looked at me several times in disbelief at the waitresses lack of manners. She Had an obvious attitude . She kept staring at me , rolling her eyes and giving me dirty looks. I would’ve said something except my eight-year-old twins were right there and I was in a rush to leave. This is the service industry. If she wasn’t comfortable with where I placed the chair she could’ve kindly asked me to place the chair somewhere else or move the table to accommodate all of us. This restaurant needs to train their staff especially Jennifer in common decency and interpersonal skills! Martino’s is my favorite restaurant in the entire world. I’m 33 and I’ve been going here since I was a child. I don’t even live local anymore but I keep coming back bc there is not a single place that even comes close to their quality of food. BEST bread basket ever. The pizza bread is delish. The garlic knots are perfect and even better when you butter them. The pepperoni bites are addictive. BEST mozzarella sticks. Their sticks do not taste like any other places. BEST penne ala vodka ever. Those are my go to dishes. However, I recall their grandma pizza being great too. My mom loves the penne ala momma. I have my birthday dinner there every year. I went last night and food was great. Service was wonderful. The waitress kept giving me a filled Diet Coke every time I blinked and was very friendly. LOVE this place!! Gave restaurant a second chance after a bad experience I had while dining in the restaurant years ago. Ordered a large pie to be delivered by Slice, the restaurants preferred delivery service. Sat down to eat and my granddaughter pulled a long red hair out of her cheese. Called restaurant, was told rudely they did not deliver anything, if Slice delivery it they tampered with it. No one with red hair works there. I explained the hair was cooked in not laying on top of cheese. He insisted it did not come from his restaurant. Call ended with me saying thanks I will never do business with you, the pizzeria’s response okay good. This is the same poor service I experienced when dining in, they placed our orders at the table next to us, walked away , came back picked up both plates we watched the people pick in.
