Unfortunately, I cannot rate the food service, since I wasnāt given the opportunity to sit down. I went to this diner this morning with my husband and my 6 month old, who was in her stroller. As we walked in the door, the waitress yelled at us that we couldnāt stay. My husband and I were very confused, especially since there were only 4 or 5 tables full. When we questioned with a confused āwhat?ā She got nasty again & said we couldnāt come in if we were using the stroller. When I asked why not she said there was a sign on the door & she either had to stay in her car seat (which she wasnāt even in one) or we had to leave. We werenāt offered the option of a high chair or to be accommodated in a back corner out of the way. Weāve gone to multiple other restaurants that have never told us we couldnāt bring our stroller or offered a high chair if there was no room for a stroller. I understand some nicer restaurants donāt allow children or strollers, but this is a diner. I didnāt even ask for a high chair because at that point I was so disgusted we turned around and walked out. When leaving, we looked for the āsignā which was smaller than a piece of computer paper with small font. Iām new to Oceanside, but I will never step foot in this diner ever again & Iāll be sure to steer others away as well. I would have been understanding if it was small, crowded or even explained nicely that there were no strollers allowed, with an āIām sorry, but we unfortunately canāt have strollers in hereā. We walked in and were basically told to get out. Wonderful people you have running your business. On the other hand, we found a better, more accommodating diner in Rockville Center that weāll be going to from now on. When I actually called to double check about the stroller the host laughed and said this is America of course you can bring your baby in here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wouldn't recommend this place to a hobo. The owner/matradee has the tact of a trucker that need a rest stop. I went there for Easter lunch after mass. Had my wife, 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter. While I was waiting one of the waitress was raving on how pretty my daughters dress was. The waitress asked the matradee and she just looked up and kind of grinned said "yeh uhuu." My 2 year old daughter proceeded to touch one of the metal dolls on the floor. OMG did this lady freak out. She grabbed my daughters hand and told her not to touch the dolls because she didn't want her to break them (btw remember the dolls are on the floor, they are metal, we are waiting to be seated and she's a 2 year old). She then seated me at a table next to the entrance (shocker), and we ordered a couple burgers. My daughter did not want to sit in the bench so I put her on the floor so she could stretch her legs for a little bit before we got our meal. She started to walk around when the "trucker" told me to put her back in the bench. That was the last straw, we got up paid for our meal took it to go. I gave the waitress a tip as it wasn't her fault but I would NEVER go there again. BTW the burgers were average at best, the utensils (and paper napkins) were dirty and the bathrooms...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy sister is a repeat customer at this diner and recommended that I try it out. Hostess with black hair is rude and flat out disrespectful to patrons as well as those inquiring for job positions. Last time I visited, I informed the hostess that I left the waitresses tip on the table and she completely ignored me, handed me my change, and walked away. I figured she was having an off day and let it slide. My sister noticed they were hiring and referred my aunt to this place and upon arrival she was met with an onslaught of disrespect. Not to mention, my aunt who has an accent but VERY CLEARLY speaks English fluently was questioned on if she can even speak English. Iād like to note that, Sheryl (the hostess) also made it known that she would be yelling at her staff and it should not be taken personally. Her abuse of power is pathetic and itās sad that she uses her hosting position as a way to belittle those around her to make herself feel better. Thereās way too much that was said that isnāt even worth repeating however itās safe to say that she lost loyal customers who have been patrons here ever since we moved to Long Island. I will definitely be informing everyone I know about this...
