I usually dont have time to write reviews but as i sit here angry, im going to make the time. My husband and I went to this place when it was on the opposite side of the street and back then it wasn't great. We saw after COVID they revamped and moved and made it bigger and said maybe they're food is better now being that they revamped everything and it was packed everytime we passed by....we were wrong.
We went with our nephew this time & We ordered our appetizers which were cold, and really don't understand how you expected us to cut Chicharron with a butter knife...anyone who eats Chicharron knows that's a no no. We ordered the Entrana (Skirt Steak dish) which was $42. We don't have an issue spending money on dinner but when it sucks...that to us is such a waste. The rice & beans were cold, the beans were watery and had no flavor, the steak was 2 (7 inch) pieces and I ordered well done and my husband ordered medium well. The waiter came super confused when he mixed the plates and couldn't understand why we said the plates are the other way around when they served us eachother plates. Our nephew ordered Carne asada dish and it was cold. Our steaks were hot however, when we told the waitress the rice and beans were cold she took it back and when she brought it back it was still cold...not sure if they even have a stove there but if anyone hates cold food ..this place isn't for you. The singing was so loud we couldn't speak much and the waitress rarely came by to check on us. We paid $182 total for 3 plates that 2 appetizers that all were cold and sucked especially with flavor. I've had better steak at Outback. We usually go to another Colombian restaurant on Old Country rd but we decided to give this place a 2nd chance over them and we completely regretted it. Never again...nobody even cared when we said something. There's so many waitresses so I don't get how the lack of service happens and a full kitchen but cold food? As a business owner I will say.. you have to do better. The only reason that place is packed is for the music and drinks I'm assuming. The Margheritas were good but the food sad...
Read moreFirst off Columbians like creamy in almost everything they eat. I had the Carne Asada and Fresa Strawberry drink this evening. The rice was a bit mushy and the beans came in a creamy bean paste with brown beans in a separate bowl. The steak that I thought would be thick and juicy was thin and flat. My meal also came with sweet plantains and pork loins (fried). I cannot say I am used to this way of eating. This is because as an American Columbian myself, my pallet is more geared toward Thai food from my spouse. The strawberry drink I ordered comes with milk in it so specify ahead with the waiter you don't want any milk (no leche) trust me, it will taste better.
The layout of this restaurant is as long and roomy as a "tractor trailer truck" spacious. Plenty of seating both at the bar and on the floors. Large screen TVs line the bar. Large stage with a huge screen for Karaoke 🎤. Owner this evening was singing over the mic, actually she wasn't bad🙋.
I was a little disappointed with my bill because the waiter botched my charges by adding a Pina colada to my bill instead of a Fesca Strawberry drink. I acknowledge mistakes do happen but not to 2 bills at the same time? So make sure you check over your bill thoroughly.
*Men's Bathroom: can not handle more than 3 people at a time.
*Parking: Parking, plentiful NO METER
I think it is fair to expose an online flaw, a few of their website menu pictures show Avocados 🥑 with spots on them, making them appeared to be spoiled. I hope they rectify.
All in all it was a nice place to relax over a hot cooked meal and music. Quite a new experience for me. I might be back. 👍
*The Review...
Read moreI was so excited for this location as I loved the one in Levittown. However, my experience here in the Massapequa location just now was horrendous. We waited for over 15 minutes just to get served water. Then, they sat someone else in front of us and a waitress came over in 2 minutes. When I approached the manager she couldn’t care less and her only offer was an apology with an excuse that the hostess didn’t input the information in the system correctly. I would’ve been fine with that poor excuse if the same waitress hadn’t walked past our table at least three times without introducing herself or checking in with us during those 15 minutes. Then, that same waitress approaches us after she sees me with the manager with no excuse or reason. We waited so long that the bus boy approached and asked if we wanted something I said yes and he brought us water. And all this happened after they erroneously told us our table was ready and we had to wait more for another booth to get cleaned up. Normally, when a manager sees how horrible the experience was they’ll offer some kind of gift card or a discount on the meal. Not here. It was just an offer “oh she input it wrong and please excuse that and sit back down.” But then no accountability for the waitress’s failure to check in with us. And if you’ve been here before then you know it takes forever to receive your food order. So it isn’t just 15 min wasted. I can’t comment on the food as I didn’t even get...
