Tried this place with friends that we meet up with once a month. Six in our party. One has multiple food allergies and has had good luck here before.
Upon entering, we were surprised to see very few people in the restaurant. Bartender was very busy waiting tables and tending bar. Once our whole party was there we were sat at a round corner table. The bartender was our server. He took a lot of time with our friend with the allergies and even brought out the chefs binder with all ingredients to discuss what she could safely eat. He took our orders without writing anything down.
After a long wait, the food came out a little at a time. The friend with the allergies waited a long time after the rest of us to get her food. Three of the orders were wrong or cold and had to be remade...including the one for the food-sensitive friend. At this point, we were the only ones in the dining room. The bartender/waiter was getting upset and mumbling under his breath. Eventually, all the food got straightened out.
Food portions were erratic. The burgers and sandwiches were huge. The dinners were very small for the price. I got the gnocchi and was shocked at the small portion I received for $24.50. The bolonaise was supposed to be veal, beef and pork, but it was an unidentifiable ground meat. It tasted okay, but was cold. They took it back and microwaved it. The shaved Parmesan was now all melted and the arugula on top was hot and wilted. My husband's barbecue burger, which had to be remade because they brought out the wrong burger at first, was fantastic. The Cuban was also good.
The manager, Allan, came to our table to apologize and offer drinks, comps and excuses. He's new to the restaurant and most of the staff is new and being trained, he said. Even the back of the house staff. He was pleasant and friendly at first, but was becoming visibly frustrated as the night went on.
We got our checks and sent them off with credit cards. The waiter/bartender charged the wrong bills on the wrong cards. We had to wait for all of that to get straightened out. They had to go to the manager to straighten out the charge errors. The manager did not come out from the back to check in and assure us it was straightened out properly. After all of that, we got home and I looked at my credit card bill online and noticed that they charged my card first with a charge that was not either of the two possibilities, credited that back, charged our friends bill to our card, credited that back and finally got the right one charged. We were not notified of the initial charge error. That does not sit well with me. What happened there? The manager would have had to do the credit.
Sooooo...long story short...get a burger or sandwich and pay with...
Read moreJuly 20, 2022 we went back to 110 Grill in Henrietta, NY. The server who identified herself as Sammy deserves such great credit as she not only was our server but is the temporary manager as the manager was in an car accident and succumbed to his injuries.
Her personality, her drive, her conversational skills made us literally feel like we were home. What a hard worker she is. She stated she works 6 days of the week. She was on the move non-stop the entire 1 1/2 hours our party was eating. The food as always was superb in the Henrietta, NY location. We had departed the restaurant and we're already at our vehicle she came running out because my father had failed to retrieve his credit card after paying. That was so nice of her to rush out to give it back to us. What an absolutely gem of an employee! She also went through the menu and explained to us about how so many items are gluten free because the owners daughter had seliac disease and he was inspired to have not only an extensive gluten free menu but am actually tasty dishes. My mom who's gluten sensitive always comments how 110 Grill has the best menu for Gluten free dishes. As aforementioned she treated us not like customers but family! The restaurant was understaffed yet she managed to fill multiple roles and food / service were exceptional❗ Sammy thank you for a great experience, I hope the owner truly realizes what an awesome employee you are. As a top 10% Google Local guide I often comment about employees serving and their demeanor. Most are great. Sammy was exceptional❗
Below is my original review:
We were first introduced to 110 Grill on a trip from Westchester County to Monroe County where we stopped over at the Tesla superchargers in Albany at the Crossgates Mall. That was a wonderful dining experience and hence my son who is usually a very fussy eater wanted to go there for his birthday in Rochester. The "Cure" burger seemed more substantial at this location versus the one in Albany. The service is very prompt they somehow ran out of all IPAs so we decided to get a bottle of wine instead which was absolutely delicious❗ All in all a fantastic...
Read moreTerribly customer service from the manager on site!! 😔 The manager walked from table to table greeting families as they dined. My niece and I were the only family he didn't say one word too. He walked past us several times never looked our way. Our server was a nice young lady. It appeared that the waitresses catered to us which was very appreciated because their manager constantly walked passed us on several occasions and never spoke one word. The waitress brought waters in the tall square glasses which was filthy. The entire glass had food all over it as if a child had it for dinner and put their hands all over it from picking it up several times while eating. We called the waitress over and she apologized for it. But she said that she reached in and grabbed them from the back where the glasses were supposed to have been clean. The kitchen prepared my nieces food wrong. It was corrected. The steak that she has was great! My dinner was not hot at all and had to be taken another waitress to warm it up for me. I don't recommend this restaurant to people of color. Because the way we were ignored from their manager. If he was a waiter then I would've felt I had a go to person to speak with. But this lil short joker was the night manager. Very unprofessional, no manners at all and It was our first time. When a person goes to an establishment and the manager walks all around them as if they're a piece of the furniture it's very unconformable. As people begin to leave he wished them good night. I watched this very well. When my niece and I got up to leave he turned the other way and started cleaning down tables and I hadn't seen this joker pick up a glass of water the entire time we were there. But this will never happen again. We gave our waitress an awesome tip and was sure that she got it. Knowing the manager he wasn't going to come near the table we were at anyways. I wish I did have a video of the lil manager and a photo of the glasses....
