Went on memorial day 2023. Place was deserted. We ordered beef satay, chicken satay, spring rolls, Sambal beef, bubble tea and a coke. The satay, both beef and chicken ($9.25), were the size of my pinky finger in girth, and maybe 3 inches long...the smallest portions we ever encountered in our long-lived Asian dining experience. The satay were served with a side of peanut sauce (very good hence my 2 star rating instead of 1), and misshapen pieces of cucumber and red onion instead of the traditional cucumber sauce. My bubble tea was hot at the bottom with ice dumped on top. Not pleasant. The shrimp spring rolls ($7.95) were small, about 4" long and as wide as my thumb. They lacked salt, had a whole shrimp inside, and were fried (not steamed). The Sambal beef special ($11.95, regularly $17.95) was downright slimy and tasted "off". It's by far not our first time ordering this dish, yet the older woman (possibly the owner) told us "I know, it's just the way the sauce is" (read: you just don't know what we are talking about). I told her it's not the sauce, but the beef itself that tasted "off", and she kept insisting it's the sauce, so I asked point blank how long the beef had been in the fridge. No reply. I then told her we won't be eating it, and asked for the check. Sure enough, the lousy beef was on the bill. I said "Excuse me, you're charging us for the sambai beef?" she said "Yes" and I said "Why?" She made a face, huffed, left and eventually took it off the bill. The restaurant is clearly struggling both with making ends meet and with retaining cooks who care about what they serve and, most importantly, how they store pre-cooked ingredients. It was our second time there. We certainly won't...
ย ย ย Read moreHad to update my prior good review of this place because it is no longer good. We ordered takeout for Mothers Day (05-11-2025) and it was AWFUL.
The Pad Thai was just gross...no flaver, noodles overcooked but also stuck and clumped together, not even mixed with sauce in many spots, nothing but a few pueces of green, and a very few pieces of crushed peanut, and literally, NO FLAVOR...just AWFUL.
Next, we ordered Shrimp LoMee, which again, was HORRIBLE. No flavor, barely any added veggies (one veggie butt-end from what I think was cabbage ๐) Noodles were stuck together, not even full mixed with sauce and everything was just so gross and bland.
Also, portion sizes were smaller than before (containers were not full)
The sides of coconut rice were decent, but not great.
The problems with the food (lack of quality, lack of proper preparation, lack of many ingredients which should have been in the dishes, smaller portion size than usual) just shows how this restaurant no longer seems to care about quality or service because these issues were readily apparent simply by looking at the food before giving it to us.
Overall, very bad food and for what we received, extremely overpriced ($40 for two noodle dishes that were lacking in everything and two sides of plain coconut rice, all to go). We will not be returning again and do not...
ย ย ย Read moreWe really wanted to like this restaurant. A group of us visited from out of town because the reviews were good. The food had zero flavor. I ordered Singapore Rice noodles with pork instead of shrimp. No flavor. Other items the group ordered was Seafood Wat Tan Hor. No flavor. Very bland. The chicken in the Maylasian sweet and sour chicken and the General Tso's Chicken was chewy. The sauces were worse than an Asian entree purchased from the freezer section at your local grocery store. One person in our group ordered the TomYam Seafood Rice noodle soup and they didn't even give her a spoon. There were zero condiments on the tables. I had to hunt down a bottle of soy sauce and there weren't any salt and pepper to be found. Really? I'm guessing the good chef had the day off. I do not recommend...
