Our regular Chinese place is good but my husband wanted to try somewhere different, Albert's had good reviews so we ordered take out. The place was packed, with loads of bags lined up for delivery too. We ordered wonton soup, hot and sour soup, shrimp toast, egg rolls x3, large pork fried rice, general tso's chicken, beef szechuan and chicken and garlic sauce. We thought it was a good variety to try for a first time visit and they were dishes we are familiar with. Total was $90, food was ready in 20 minutes. We live about 10 minutes away and the food was still hot when we got home. I can't say anything was awful but nothing was very good either. Everything was under seasoned with the exception of the fried rice, which aside from being dry had good flavor. The wontons were so soggy and doughy that two had busted opened so the soup was a bland, mushy mess. All our entrees were marked with the spicy icon on the menu. Traditionally these dishes have a nice red pepper kick but nothing that will melt your shoes off. None of them had even the slightest bit of heat, zero. The general tso's wasn't as sweet as most places serve and this was kind of refreshing... that the sauce wasn't like syrup, but it was still woefully under seasoned. The beef szechuan and chicken and garlic were both served in the style that everything is cut in thin strips. The proportions were off, some pieces were string thin and other pieces were the width of your pinky. Made for mostly overcooked veggies that lacked any crisp texture and some rubbery meat. The hot and sour soup had no sour, the shrimp toast was decent. The egg rolls were soggy. All and all, disappointing. The worst part is this place is twice as expensive as our usual Chinese place and not even...
Read moreMy husband and I were looking for a Chinese restaurant, because our favorite closed due to a family death. We searched high and low, but none came close. That was the case until we found Albert's. This restaurant is A++ The best food and excellent service. I always order the Tropical Shrimp dinner and it is scrumptious. AWESOME decor and ambiance. Albert supervises and makes sure you are well satisfied. UPDATE- The MOST delicious Lo Mein on the planet. Returned to Albert"s and ordered the Vegetable Lo Mein and other entrees and I could not believe how incredibly delicious the Lo Mein was. When the Lo Mein arrived at the table, it had an incredibly, succulent , smoky aroma and the taste matched the delectable aroma. I have to say that Albert's is one of the best restaurant in Huntington, as a matter of fact the best of...
Read moreEverything we ordered was delicious especially the Peking Duck. The sushi rolls were small in comparison to other restaurants we frequent but tasty. There were a few things that I did dislike though... the servers will hurry away before you have a chance to tell them if you need anything, the meals didn't come out at the same time so you aren't eating together. Had to repeatedly ask for our 4th meal. Last but not least we ask if they had Tartufo. The guy didn't understand so we asked for a dessert menu. A little while later he brings out this large dish of assorted ice creams and fruits. We tell him we didn't order it. He smiles and says "Happy Mother's Day" giving us the impression it was on the house. Well surprise! They charged us $20 for something we didn't...
