I chose LaPiazza to have an early Sunday dinner with my family that consisted of 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 5. When I called to make reservations they wanted me to give them a credit card so if we cancelled they would charge me $160.00 which is $20.00 a person. I thought this was a bit much on so many levels. First to even charge that and especially for them including the 2 children under 5! Knowing kids can get sick at the drop of a dime or a family member might cancel due to unforeseen circumstances I didn’t make a reservation for these reasons and just met up at the restuarant. When we got there, there were only 2 patrons sitting at one table, the rest of the restuarant was completely empty. I was shocked that I was even asked to make a reservation. Waiter was good but misguided us on getting the fried calamari. He said 1 order would feed 2 maybe 3 people. We over order based on his recommendation which cost us more money and had to take it home which we didn’t prefer doing. Then the bill comes. The very FIRST line on the bill is their 20% gratuity of $71.72. Then, when we paid by credit card the price was higher which yes is in most places they do that but when we paid the bill they automatically added in the gratuity instead of us writing it in and then the receipt comes back with a line that says “additional gratuity”! Their policies in place are to get the customer before they even walk in the door and more so when they’re seated in the restuarant. My husband and I go out to eat all the time and to higher end places than this. It just turns me the other way when you know you’re being taken advantage of. Doesn’t matter if the food is decent, their policies are the only thing I remember about dining there. My guess is that they are doing this because they’re not doing well? I don’t foresee them staying in business like this....
Read moreThe hostess was super rude. Gave me a nasty look. Her smile disappeared as soon as she saw me. I ordered and it was $20 for the cheapest possible one order of pizza for one person...?
She told me I had to wait outside or in the pick -up area with the chiefs (where it was extremely hot) it's disgusting they have the poor workers in extreme heat when it's 55 degrees outside anywyay. The chiefs were extremely nice and deserve better. It's the 1st time I ever came here and the place was completely empty. I will never come back here. Absolutely ridiculous. It's completely empty and she didn't even greet me. Super inappropriate behavior from supposedly a "nice" place. This is a pizza place, it's not a steak house. Don't give me an attitude for walking into an empty place to order myself a slice of pizza. .they don't even sell single slices. What pizza place doesn't sell single slices? It's 2025.
The other negative reviews seem to reflect similar issues. Leaving people waiting a long period of time and treating people as if they're a. Fancy restaurant needing hundreds of dollars for a reservation to an empty place. That's insane logic. Whose making the positive reviews anyway? Never seen people here whenever I drive by. Probably delivery. They forcibly include tip so don't leave any tip!!!! They didn't give a...
Read moreOverpriced, and not always as advertised. The fettuccine Alfredo sauce is runny and not thick. I ordered on Doordash for pickup and it looked nothing like the creamy, sauce-covered pasta as pictured. When I asked for more Alfredo sauce at the restaurant, they charged me for it, even after having spent close to $300 on the order. Also this item says it comes with "shaved parmesan" and instead they gave me grated parmesan, (after having forgotten it in the first place) and it was the kind that goes on pizza. Then again, these are the pizza guys in the back and I don't think they are well-versed on the delivery menu or actual menu items of the restaurant? One of them even said I should have "asked for the sauce and parmesan" in advance when ordering on the app! I said "how was I supposed to know the fettucine alfredo was going to have runny sauce with barely any on it?” Plus, I showed him that it literally says on the menu item, "WITH SHAVED PARMESAN." These items are not cheap (almost $30!), so I don’t feel i'm in the wrong for having expectations that the food should look and be as-advertised. Anyways, a little disappointed as this was for Mother's Day celebration at home. Maybe would have been better to dine-in but she's nearly 90 and not...
