Northport has several beautiful places to dine. But Main Street truly reflects the community. We arrived 20 minutes before the kitchen was closing at 10 PM. The waitress was accommodating, hospitable and welcoming as if that 10 PM clock bell wasn't imminent. So we began with the evening special of New England Clam Chowder. It was creamy but not dense. The clams were delicious and melted in your mouth. Next up was one amazingly large burger topped with crisp onion frizzles and bacon, red onion, tomato, lettuce, melted cheese, and sliced pickles. My guess is it was 3-4 inches tall and served with thick cut fries. My husband devoured this burger as if he hadn't eaten for days. I ordered the Corned Beef Reuben. Decadently divine! Grilled rye, toasty with the right amount of sauerkraut and Russian dressing. Definitely, one of the best I have been served. As the evening passed, one by one, the comfortable bar stools were taken. Everyone seemed to know their names and I felt this was definitely "The Cheers" of Northport. On the rear wall are rows of caricatures. I recognized no one and asked the waitress who all these people are. She said it is the people of Northport that come in here, the regulars. This little pub celebrates it's customers much the way Sam and Diane did in their bar. How fortunate and beautiful is their location on Main Street, the epicenter of all things perfect...

I thought I had reviewed this place not too long ago, but I don't see my words anywhere, so I would like to write one again.

This was my grandparents fave place and they would take my husband and I there often. We would return the favor, too. When our daughter was old enough, she came too. She loved the cafe and was always treated so kindly by the staff.

Great food and the staff is exceptional They get to know you and remember your likes. This goes back years ago, but I took my grandma there one Mother's Day when my Grandfather was hospitalized. The waitress had fresh roses to give all the women diners. She came around with a vase filled with gorgeous blooms and we each were delighted to choose one. So thoughtful an idea and made a loving impact on my grandmother.

The burgers are the best around, but their other food -- especially, the specials of the day, deserve to be ordered, too. Salmon is always delicious and their soups and desserts are quite good.

We often come back to enjoy the place and remember my grandparents. They are no longer with us, but their memory lives on and going to this lovely cafe helps us feel close to them once more!! I was raised by them as my mother's health was very poor, so my husband and I were always happy to spend time with them at The Main...

Two big thumbs up for Main Street Cafe in downtown Northport Village. My fiance, son, and I were downtown and wanted a low key dinner. Even though we live close by, I've only eaten here once. The restaurant is very small, so even at 5pm on a Wednesday, it was packed. No worries, 5 mins wait. We sat down and we're greeted promptly by our waitress (don't remember her name, but very friendly). We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer. We already dug in before I took this pic, so there was probably half more of this. All 3 of us ordered burgers for dinner because I always heard their burgers were the best in town. They definitely lived up to their name. I included the check so you can see the very reasonable prices and the names of the burgers. All were cooked to perfection. I liked that the soft drinks were still pre 2020 prices and free refills. Also, I paid with credit card and there wasn't...

This is the second time my partner and I have eaten at Main Street Cafe. Such a warm and cozy place. The decor is inviting and rustic, which I prefer. If you're into new "hipster" type of vibes, this isn't the spot for you. The staff are super nice. The restaurant is clean. The bar is a great place to get a drink. Folks are pleasant. This last time we ate at the table near the front window. A tad bit cold there on a winter day with the door opening just fyi. Sit near the far wall, not next to the door. The food - we had burgers. My partner had a bacon cheeseburger cooked medium and I had the turkey burger. Very good. Fries were hot and bun was nice and warm. If you prefer thin cut fries, these aren't that. These are steak fries cooked nice and crispy. Great place to eat, conveniently located on Main St. Highly recommend.

Read the reviews before popping in for lunch, and so glad we did. Sis was in the mood for a great burger, and they delivered. Kind of wish the mushrooms were deglazed with a wine or had some level of upscale to them (so said my sister), but I was happy with all the flavors, plus blue cheese dressing on the side and the brie cheese substitute. This was a knife & fork burger for me. Too thick to just bite into and worth every bite. Practically licked the plate clean. #LocalGem #GoodEats #theresthatfoodie
