Chose this place because we live close and I had driven by a couple times. Never too busy but seemed busy enough that maybe it was a locals type thing since I go to one of the university's. First started with the bread sticks which where they had dried and caked on garlic butter and the next course was salad.

As the nice and courteous server brought out the salad I could see from a distance the wilting lettuce and veg. Upon closer inspection I was correct. The tomato was room temperature and the bell pepper had discoloration all along the cut veg. The raspberry vinaigrette was like the Exon Valdez dumped into it. Oil was all I could taste. The polite server took that away and then eventually our main dishes came out. I'll describe those below.

My dish was the baked pene. When the plate landed I could already see the pasta had been mixed and plated and just put in a broiler. It was a literal slice of cheese barely melted on top with a and I'm not even kidding here, half slice of cheese right next to it melted. The taste was bland and I immediately stopped eating.

Next dish was the chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce had the constancy of melted vanilla ice cream while also having the worst and old tasting chicken I had ever had. A quick taste of the noodles had a weird squid like after taste which was immediately spit out.

Last dish was the lasagna, simple right? Impossible to mess up? I thought so too. They did what I could only describe as an open faced sandwich plating in which they cut it in half and plated it oddly and wrong. It's lasagna. Don't reinvent the wheel here. Taste was also similar to the pene with bland and flavorless.

The redemption here was our server was quite polite until the owner came out and literally snatched my plate away while saying he was going to take care of it. While I didn't have to pay for any of the meals I didn't appreciate his attitude. Which is why I'm here now. If you read this, this is for you. You have a restaurant right next to the best culinary institute in the world. How you don't utilize that is beyond me. You're in the hospitality business, once you saw our plates you should of been ashamed you let that get off Your line. Also. Your bruschetta was good, but cut back on your oil by at least half the amount your...

I just love this place! It's been around since 1961. Classic spacious period design with large dining rooms, yet warm and cozy. I love the twin fish tanks, which have been a staple for years. I've been going to Coppola's for over 25-years and consider it the best Italian restaurant in Dutchess County.

Huge portions and hard to find Northern Italian dishes, such as Beef Braciole and Osso Buco are on the menu, which are seldom seen on most Italian restaurant menus. The menu is very extensive and has kept me interested and coming back 25-years later. The soups and appetizers are not to be overlooked. I highly recommend the assortment of Clams Casino, Clam Oreganato, and the Baked Stuffed Clams made with a wine sauce (I think?) They're just amazing!

The service is almost always great with lots of parking and handicap spaces in front entrance. Holidays are packed, as you would expect from a longtime local favorite restaurant, so pick another night or make reservations. I prefer mid-weekdays on quieter nights for a perfect cozy dinner.

The variety of homemade Italian sauces have become a regional favorite and jars of Coppola's sauce can be purchased inside at the register or packed table side with your left overs, which is almost a certainty.

It's rare that I ever give a restaurant five-stars, but Coppola's...

We had a horrible experience here today … It was our first time and we were very excited to try it as we had gotten so many good recommendations. All of our glasswear was dirty or has dust all over it our utensils were stained and looked unwashed and the napkins had stains all over them … after seeing that we had ordered our food we waited almost an hour for our food to come out just for 4 out of the 5 meals to be incorrect we ordered a large broccoli rob pizza they brought out 2 pasta dishes which were much more expensive … we had also order a large pizza pie and they brought out a personal one that was burnt and we also ordered a personal pesto primavera and it had no pesto on it … after being unsatisfied with what came out we were expecting some kind of accommodation since they messed up our whole order but no they charged us for all of their mistakes. We Walked up to the counter and told them what happened and asked if they could accommodate for what they did they had then said they could but then found out we had already paid and then refused and said they could not because they did not know how to take the one pasta off or change anything on the bill . It was horrible services on their part and their mistakes they should of taken action for . I do not recommend...

I recently dined at the Coppola restaurant in Hyde Park, and it was truly an exquisite experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a delightful meal. This place seemed to be a local favorite. The standout dish for me was the Bistro Cheese Tortellini – a perfect balance of creamy cheese filling and al dente pasta, beautifully coated in a savory sauce. Each bite was a burst of flavor, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. The staff was attentive, enhancing the overall dining pleasure. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking an authentic and delicious Italian culinary journey in Hyde Park.

Went here for lunch today and tried the beef braciole. Super tasty, soft and meaty, 3 large balls of beef and some penne pasta to complement. Just the right amount without over doing it. Followed by a coffee which was good too. This place once hosted Richard Nixon for lunch. Spoke with the owner John who is friendly and passionate about the food and the business . His father came over from Naples to set it all up after the WW2. He’s now 92 and still comes to help cook daily. Some great stories shared by John about the family and food. Nicely laid out restaurant. Worth a visit when on the trail heading to Catskills!
