We have been here as a family for so many different occasions, tonight we were out for a birthday celebration. There was us (a table of 8) and 2 other tables of 2 in the dining area we were in. I have 2 small children, we gave them each a brand new toy to keep them quiet and make sure they weren’t screaming monsters at the table, these toys happened to make some noise, not super loud, made much less of a noise than screaming children would. The manger asked us to turn he sound off in a very abrasive way, with no table around us we were taken off guard by this. A few moments later he went to speak to the table directly in front of where I was sitting, he asked how they enjoyed their meal and then abruptly turned his back to the table I was sitting at and began to motion toward my table, I was well aware that he was talking about not only the party I was with but MY CHILDREN. Do not brand your business as a family style restaurant of you don’t want families to frequent your establishment, Our food was fantastic, our sever was great; all of that being said: I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again, due to the attitude and arrogance of Paul the manager of this establishment.
I want to edit this because I want the overall point of my review to be understood. I’m not upset that I was asked to turn down my children’s toy I am upset at the fact that I and my children and my family were spoken about by this man to the table in front of us while we were still in his establishment and still at our table. You do not make your patrons feel the way that man made us feel last night his request was obliged and that should’ve been the end of it but to turn your back while you speak to a table about patrons that are still there was unprofessional uncalled for and completely disrespectful the lack of regard he showed is why we will...
Read moreOne of my top 5 family restaurants. They have a few locations and we've been to this particular location many times and usually leave satisfied. Yes, it's family style with large portions - but I don't care how much food you get if it isn't good. They turn out some pretty fine dishes. While they have traditional Italian dishes, they also offer what they call "new" Italian dishes of which I really like. Many of the pasta dishes are in the $25-$30 range (but again, they're family size). I love mussels and Butera's has the absolute best white sauce version (another restaurant choice of mine wins for red sauce, but Butera's by far is my favorite white - ever). Lot's of wine/butter sauce with thinly-sliced garlic and crunchy bread to sop it up. It's rich and not for the faint-of-heart. I usually order it alone since my wife and son do not like mussels but they both dip bread into the sauce. They then share a pasta dish and I order a pasta dish for myself which I take half of home, after eating a large portion of mussels. We usually experience good service, great food and a friendly atmosphere and that keeps us coming back. Edit 11/22: Like everything, prices have increased...
Read moreWe visited because we received a gift card. I think that this place has a local following which is the reason behind most of the great reviews. Although our server was very nice as well as other staff members the experience was mediocre at best. For starters the place was not as clean as you would expect. The atmosphere was non existent. Half of the tables had linens and the remainder just old wooden tables. The manager was there but totally inattentive, staff was eating cake from a party at the hostess station while customers where walking in. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. We had to ask for bread then butter then utensils. I do not question pricing ever when dining out but I expect to get what I pay for. Oh P.S. Look at the pictures where there is a spray bottle inches away from dishes that they would serve you or your family from. Who knows what is contained in that spray bottle? This is a health department violation due to the cross contamination variable. Don't take my word for it. Check it out for yourself and you will remember my review. This place was a total...
