Had the host not reprimanded and scolded me in front of my table of 9, I would give this restaurant a much higher score.
The food was quite good, but I was so appauled by the host's behavior that I'm still in shock.
Long story short, we were there for 30 min and our order had not been taken. I assumed that the person getting our drinks was not the waiter as he seemed very confused, and maybe this was his first day on the job. Whatever the reason, I went to the host and said that my table would like to order. I was not a "Karen" and I was simply asking to order as everyone at my table voted for me to find out what's going on.
Before the waiter came to finally take our order, the host rushed over to the table and very loudly and unprofessionally announced to me and the entire table that the waiter had come over twice and we had told him we were not ready; his delivery was so incredibly rude and unwarrented, and I was not sure why I was being berated like this...
Needless to say the mood at my business dinner changed and we were all left wondering why we were scolded and reprimanded in such a way.
I work nearby and I take clients out and recommend local restaurants frequently. Needless to say that based on my service experience I will never be going back to Pubstreet.unless I'm in the mood to be humiliated publically. I will also share my experience with my collegues so that they don't go to Pubstreet or else risk embarrassment in front of...
Read moreWish I could give 5 negative stars, as worst food and service we have ever had in our County of Westchester where we have lived for decades. Lettuce in Caesar salad was so old it was brown, yellow and bitter, with either bottled or days-old, cheap-ingredients dressing. Salad included a brown worm-like 3/8" x 1/16" item, which I asked waiter to show chef. "It's a piece of rice," was the response. No bill deduction was offered. Iced tea was so bitter it was either steeped too long or 3+ days old. Side dish of spinach and garlic swam in cheap oil which overpowered flavor of supermarket spinach. Fresh spinach is available now from local farms. Waiter challenged, in a surly manner, my request to have salad and side dish served together . For 10 min. after acknowledging our request for what turned out to be an overpriced, in light of food quality, check, he kept us waiting while clearing tables, despite fact that several adjacent empty outdoor tables could have accommodated incoming customers. Husband agreed we would...
Read moreHappy hour Oysters!
I am glad a found this gem to have a variety of happy hour Oysters to try. I love that they rotate the happy hour even so each day you aren't trying the same happy hour Oysters and you can build your preferences or enjoy the classics.
The oysters tasted fresh and had a few East coast oysters for happy hour. I really enjoyed the beau soleil. They offer Tabasco, lemon wedges, cocktail sauce, horseradish, and aoli to company your oysters. I also enjoyed the the little neck clams.
The veggie spring rolls were also a great crunchy bite to have while the oysters are being shucked.
The restaurant is very covid conscious by having protective barriers between seats. They also do temperature checks and require masks to be worn upon entry and exit. They have at the bar seating to watch TV and enjoy seeing their also selection. I didn't enjoy the outdoor seating but the set up...
