The rice in the burrito was undercooked. The rice in the burrito was hard and undercooked. The vegan veggie bowel had barely any vegetables. The vegetables were good but the bowel was mostly plain couscous. We have a baby and asked for a small side of avocado for him. They charged my mom $9 for literally a plain avocado with nothing in it knowing it was for the baby. The vegetable portions are small, the food is over priced, the rice hard and undercooked, and they are very cheap with their vegetables even when you purchase a vegetable based item. The falafel was also not good. I love Israeli food and I enjoy Mexican food. But this place was not ideal. I definitely regret the money I spent here. I should have went to Lulu kitchenette across the street. Their stuff can be pricey but at least it’s good! I’m really shocked by the good reviews cause that was not the food I experienced at all, maybe I had to get something else but for an Israeli place to have bad falafel I take that as a sign everything else must taste bad too. Falafel tasted...
Read moreThis place is fabulous--Mexican and Israeli fusion! My husband literally went there three days in a row after seeing movies at Jacob Burns. Everything is good-- you can't go wrong. I really liked the street corn chowder and fish tacos and he loves the lamb tacos. If you are vegetarian but like matzo ball soup-theirs is vegetarian and quite good. We are falafel snobs and the falafel meets our high expectations. The traditional hummus, mexighanoush and avocado "hummus" are all stellar. The baklava and babka are outstanding as well. I've been eyeing the Mexican Street Corn--next time. This is a tiny hole in the wall take-out place with limited seating inside-mostly counter seating-and some outdoor seating. The husband and wife team are very nice and friendly. We live an hour away but will make this a regular stop on our way to...
Read moreThe best thing about this place is that it's not that gross. Besides that, the food is really off. It's a cool concept, but the execution is pathetic. Let's take their eponymous Falafel Taco as an example: The tacos were swimming in a watery flavorless sauce to such an extent that the Tortilla started to melt, and simultaneously the falafel was so dry it was almost impossible to swallow. Achieving such a textural mismatch is an achievement in its terribleness. I almost wish I had experienced flavor so disgustingly mismatched, but none of the food at this restaurant has any flavor so you will be...
