While I love the message of this cafe and the atmosphere, I have to be an honest customer and say this place was unfortunately overhyped on tik tok. Iâll start with what I love about the place.
I loved the greeter that comes around the line to make conversation while we wait, and when you get inside I love the cozy/inviting atmosphere. Unfortunately the list doesnât go beyond that.
The line wait was an hour and a half long, which we didnât mind because it was our first time in sleepy hallow, we wanted to support the business and gain the experience everyone was âravingâ about. After waiting in that line we soon realized why it took so long. From what we can tell the entire line up of staff are on the spectrum in the front, from the ones taking the order, to the ones making the drinks.
As someone who works with people on the spectrum myself, thereâs absolutely nothing wrong with that, however it wouldâve been really helpful to have a neurotypical person or two in front to guide along with taking orders and making drinks properly. We waited awhile just for our names to be taken down.
My boyfriend ordered a large pumpkin dreams with whole milk cold and I ordered a small pumpkin dreams with oat milk hot , it was $22 to start(I havenât paid that for two coffees at some of the most bougiest cafes) but still we paid and even tipped wanting to support, and Still under the impression that our coffees would turn out great. The people behind us got their coffee first which was interesting and when our coffee did come out, my boyfriendâs coffee had like three pumps of syrup at the bottom, all milk at the top no whipped cream no toppings like the picture displayed. No one even informed us that there were no toppings. When my coffee came out, it was bland with no flavor, as if there was no syrup in it at all. I was told they ran out of oat milk after I had already paid probably additional money for oat milk. Lastly, my boyfriend had asked for a straw because they ran out of straws in the front, and unfortunately, the person on the other side wasnât able to comprehend that there were no straws and restock them. I feel like this is weâre having some Neurotypical people help and guide these people on the spectrum would have elevated the cafĂ©. The owner was there, but she just sat outside, making conversation with the people in the line and didnât really help her staff at all. Should they have some hands-on assistance, I feel like things could be really great.
The people were nice. They greeted you well. However Some skills can be further developed with guidance and thereâs nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, we will not be going back and I donât recommend anyone wait an hour and a half in line, especially if itâs your first time in sleepy Hollow and youâre looking for a...
Read moreIt was my first visit to sleepy hollow and I visit here due to the positive reviews. When I arrived the place there was a long line, and I waited for an hour to make an order, which was around 10:50am.
As I was waiting for my order I watched many of the customers that were in front and behind me were getting their orders quickly then mine, I was being understanding since the store was being run by disable employees as well as there was a huge line. But I checked the order time on the receipt and then, itâs been 20 mins. I went up to the guy at the pick up counter and asked him if theyâre still making the order because itâs been over 20 mins. The guy asked the barista and apparently they completely forgot my order.
I was very upset that they forgot my order because they were able to remember everyone who was both front and back of me in the line (over 10 people got their orders while I was waiting) except for mine. They were able to make my order but didnât offer compensation for forgetting the order. The blueberry cobbler drink was $12 and the taste is not as great as people in the reviews said it was (watery then blueberry coffee). Iâm from the city and I had better drink in manhattan HALF THE PRICE compare to this place.
I know what this place is trying to do is admirable but it is not worth the 1hr 30mim waiting time if your time is limited and have places to explore in sleepy hollow. Not only that but it is not worth the money for the low quality drinks theyâre serving, if ur here to get good quality coffee youâll have better luck ordering a latte at McDonalds instead of here.
This is not me being harsh this is just my honest review from my experience. Again I still think what theyâre doing is great offering job wise, but I also believe there still room of improvement to the service and the drink quality, especially if youâre having people wait in line for over an hour and overcharging the price. Best of luck, will not...
Read moreWe stopped into Sleepy Hollow Too Coffee on Sunday for the first time, and it was such a great experience! While we were waiting in the long line outside, Hillary greeted us with such a warm welcome, she did an amazing job chatting with everyone and making us feel right at home before we even got inside. The shop itself is the perfect cozy spot to grab coffee and a seat inside. And of course, Bear the dog truly runs the place from her throne, itâs adorable! Our drinks were absolutely delicious, and I loved the variety on the menu. I ordered the Witchâs Brew and appreciated that itâs made naturally without dyes, it was so good! It was our first trip to Sleepy Hollow, and this was the perfect stop during our visit. Weâll definitely be back whenever we visit Sleepy Hollow again! Totally worth the wait and such a gem of a spot....
