I visited this nice take out restaurant this weekend, and was not disappointed! The Croquetas (a wide variety) were all delicious!!! The mushroom, bacalao, mozzarella and tomato, chorizo, ham and cheese, and the spinach (just to name a few) were so good, I cannot wait to go back and try all of them again. The Cuban Sandwich, another item on the menu, was so FANTASTIC and so different from other cuban sandwiches I've tried before. You can taste the real Pernil and the freshness of the pickle which make this sandwich the real deal. The owners of this Croqueteria are Cuban, so there you have it! They know what they're doing! I 100% recommend this place, it's a must visit to support small businesses. 10 out of 10!
10/3/2020 I went again!!!! Yes, I was craving croquetas (these croquetas) and I decided to visit this little restaurant again. The train ride (from GC to Tarrytown) was about an hour, Saturday was such a beautiful day and I wanted to do something different, so I went to indulge on Croquetas. I also had some picadillo cubano and tried the chicken soup. All good, no disappointments,...
Read moreCalled a few times, got no answer, so I drove over and (hooray!) they were open. Though many of the croquettes we wanted were out of stock, they did have some unexpectedly awesome alternatives like potato with feta. We wound up with a pile of spinach and feta croquettes, a chicken, some potato with feta, a few pulled pork sandwiches and a Cuban sandwich and one Cuban salad and one avacado. All of it excellent, really really really good food. I think we'll go back for the Cuban sandwich though. These are the yellow mustard, pickles, cheese and ham style, in a crispy pressed bun. The pulled pork was quite good (with onions and cheeses in the same long flat pressed bun) but that Cuban sandwich won it all hands down. The Croqueteria is clearly still on the ramp, working out the kinks and twists every startup faces, but they have the key thing, the food, done absolutely...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with my visit to Croqueteria. I had such high hopes from the reviews and was immediately let down as soon as I walked in the door. Was greeted with basically a frown and made to feel like I was there to solicit for something "Can I help you with something"... I immediately said, well, yeah, I'm here to order food... LOL. We also couldn't use the restroom (after a 2 hour drive), even though we were patrons...
The best part...the croquettes were some of the worst. The only salvageable one was the spinach and feta and even that was bland. The chicken one tasted like dog food and made my sister and I feel ill. Even my daughter couldn't finish the sweet pumpkin one.
So, overall.... on top of the unwelcoming attitude and inedible food..... I would...
