My wife and I ate at Rūna last night. It was excellent! We used to stop by The Village Tea Room when we were in town and were sad to see it close. But, we were overjoyed to see that a restaurant had taken its place; so, we decided to give it a shot. And we’re glad we did! The food was terrific! We started with the shrimp (prepared Spanish style in garlic and oil) and the buratta special. My wife had the steak special, and I had the rainbow trout. Everything was prepared really well and was delicious. We shared a delicious brownie (with ice cream) for dessert and had a total of 4 glasses of wine. Everything was reasonably priced. We sat outside, and the setting was lovely. It was as if The Village Tea Room was still there but only better! The service was excellent - both friendly and efficient. My only complaint (if you can call it that) was that, on the receipt, they suggest various tip percentages and base it on the price including tax. I’ve seen that at a few other places and think it’s wrong. The tip should be on the pre-tax cost, and I gladly gave a little more than 20%. New Paltz is close to my heart (I went to school there many many years ago). We...

We went in on a Sunday night after hearing about Runa and how awesome the food is. We were not disappointed. We started with the escargot and French onion soup. The escargot was perfect. It was served with amazing bread, and just the right amount. The French onion soup was just as amazing, made from bone broth with just the right amount of cheese and croutons. For the entrees we had the steak frites and the trout almondine. Again, it could not have been more perfect. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. For the desert we ended with the flourless chocolate torte and profiteroles. All around the experience was wonderful. We also had the pinot noir, but there were so many other good wines to choose from, no one will be disappointed. Clair was super accommodating of our crazy food limitations and made every effort to make sure we were taken care of and nothing we couldn't have was in our food. We will definitely be back and we are looking forward to trying some of the other options. The only hard thing would he choosing an appetizer other than escargot!! It really...

I feel in love with the look of this spot immediately! Parking was tricky but we managed. The food was ok, do not think I will be going back. Maybe I tried the wrong dish. I did not enjoy the charcuterie board. The waitress described the meat as stuffed with pistachios but it was only a cold cut that looked like bologna. Was hoping for warm meat on a cold day. The charcuterie board came with bread, mustard, and pretzel sticks. It was definitely overpriced, the presentation was not impressive. For the price I expected something totally different. The meal was good but I do not need to eat again. Chicken and potatoes. The chicken was well seasoned and nicely cooked but again I wasn’t amazed by anything on the plate. I really wanted to absolutely love this spot but there was a lack of flavor in the dishes. For the price, I was definitely expecting something I wouldn’t be able to make in my...

Portions are generous. The crab in cream puff pastry was the best. Asparagus was perfectly cooked but overpowered by the Caesar, beets were overpowered by the blue cheese. Clams were fine but could have used more crostini bc the bread was better used for the blue cheese from the beets. Trout was mostly tasteless, poorly seasoned overall. The clafoutis was ok but not very flavorful-ice cream was good. No dinner specials on a Monday night, only 1 mocktail. Service was attentive but generally lacking. We split everything yet weren't given a second set of plates. Napkin taken away and never replaced before dessert. No, wouldn't return.

What a hidden gem of a place💎 was so blessed to dine in this beautiful restaurant - chose this place last minute after a beautiful sunset hike. 🦋 locally sourced bistro food & cozy decor 🦋 great ambience & atmosphere. 🦋 inside & outside dining available 🦋 the host let us decide where to sit & we chose the comfortable/romantic corner spot outside. Our waiter was very friendly, informative & personable. 🦋 from the specials that day: we ordered the burruta salad - so good!! 🦋 poached salmon was beyond delicious! Highly recommend! . . . Overall definitely make your way here if you’re in the area. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful restaurant inside and out, such a charming place because it looks like it was modeled inside of a house and the decor is great. I loved the drink La Belle Lune or something along those lines, unique flavor and sweet aftertaste. The service was good and the food was so rich and yummy! Definitely a big portion for my entree and the sauce was amazing on it. The brownie with ice cream was the cherry on top, we loved it (So much I forgot to take a pic until midway through it). Perfect little spot we’ve been meaning to try and it was a great choice for my birthday dinner ✨
