I normally love benihana but after today, no more. Definitely not anytime soon anyway. So I called today & used my birthday coupon to get 2 dinners. First of all, originally they quoted me $75 something, and I immediately corrected the girl and once again explained I had a birthday coupon. I was then informed no you can't use it. An I then read the coupon on the phone to her, I was then told let me find out if you can use it, and was put on hold. 15 min later she comes back on and says we will make an exception. Which makes no sense due to COVID restrictions, it must be honored. Then she tells me okay your total will be $34.00 and will be ready In 15 minutes. 1. It took them almost 45 minutes to bring my to go order (not 15). 2. When I went to pay, all of a sudden it changed to $46.00. I explained what I was quoted on the phone, and then I'm told well I took your order and I don't remember saying that. My mom happened to be with me an heard me call the order in initially on speaker phone while driving there, and immediately informed the girl no the price you quoted her was $34.00. This isn't right to mislead customers like that. Finally I take my food and leave as I didn't appreciate the rudeness nor the condescending way she spoke to myself or my mother. An clearly the employee was looking for an argument and I was not. So incredibly disrespectful! Then I get home with the food. Keep in mind I ordered 2 dinners. The portions on both were so very small, in fact they were the exact same size as the lunch specials they offer. Clearly there is no possible way that even 1 of these Dinners would be enough for 1 person let alone 2! Not only that but the food was NOT GOOD AT ALL! I asked for my steak to be Medium which it was CLEARLY NOT even close to being what I ordered. Overall it was soggy, gross, incredibly bland, the hibachi friend rice was inedible, and nowhere near enough for 2 people, let alone myself. So completely disgusted & appalled not only by the service I received, but the rudeness and attitude was uncalled for! I will most likely never go back to the one in Manhasset again! DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $46, WOULD NOT EVEN BE WORTH $25. An the worst part is they never bother to take care of or compensate customers who have bad experiences. THIS IS THE 2nd or 3rd time I've had an unpleasant experience there. MY ROOMMATE LEFT A REVIEW FOR WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR, WHEN WE ATE IN THE RESTAURANT & NEVER WAS COMPENSATED FOR RAW FOOD THAT WASN’T COOKED PROPERLY!!! THEY are overpriced and a complete ripoff and clearly do not care about repeat business or making sure the customers are satisfied!!! An also it's very rude to speak badly and badmouth customers when you are within 5 feet of them. HOW DARE YOU CALL YOURSELVES ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS RIPPING OFF THEIR CUSTOMERS & SERVING DINNERS TO GO THAT WOULD NOT EVEN SATISFY A CHILD, LET ALONE AN ADULT, DUE TO HOW RIDICULOUSLY SMALL THE PORTIONS ARE! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!! OVERALL EPIC FAIL!!! TRULY DISGUSTING & A COMPLETE WASTE...
Read moreIf I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. The only reason it’s getting even 1 star is because the food itself wasn’t terrible — but let me be clear, the service was an absolute nightmare and completely ruined the entire experience. From the second we sat down, the staff acted like they didn’t care about us because we were just kids. They were rude, disrespectful, and treated us like we weren’t worth their time. It honestly felt like we were a burden to them instead of paying customers. Then came the bill — and that’s when things really got bad. They literally added items that we never ordered onto the check, and when we pointed it out, the server flat-out lied and said that we did. That is dishonest and disgusting behavior. We ended up paying it just to get out of there, but the fact that they thought they could scam us because we’re younger is ridiculous. One of my friends had to call her mom to add money to her card, and instead of being patient or professional, the waiter actually called her crazy. Who does that? That’s not only unprofessional, it’s insulting. And let’s talk about the tip situation — because that was sneaky beyond belief. The tip was automatically included in the bill, and it was calculated after taxes, not before (which is the normal, fair way to do it). On top of that, when we went to pay, the screen only gave us “choices” of 18%, 20%, or 25%. No option to enter your own amount. When I asked about it, the server straight-up told me no, I couldn’t change it. That’s basically forcing people to overpay. At that point, I had to call my mom in, and suddenly, as soon as she showed up, the waitress magically changed her story. She admitted she was wrong, and my mom called the manager over. The manager gave us the pathetic excuse that “it was busy” — as if being busy makes it okay to scam customers, lie, and treat people like trash. As soon as my mom was standing there, they were suddenly able to “fix” the bill, remove the items we didn’t order, and let us pick our own tip. So clearly they knew what they were doing all along. This whole experience was sneaky, dishonest, unprofessional, and downright disrespectful. I will never go back to this Benihana, and I would warn anyone else thinking about it to stay far away unless you want to be lied to, disrespected, and overcharged.
Additionally, I would like to say that we had a reservation for 6pm, checked in at 5:50pm and we never got seated until almost 6:30 which I thought was very rude, and nobody...
Read moreI mean, what more can I say when you’re paired with amazing seating and amazing dining then there’s really nothing much to complain about. I can never go back to the man I once was. Before I ever came here I was a whole different man, one of an adequate knowledge of the dining world, but as soon as I entered this place, the dining experience was given to my eyes and my brain, and may I say also my mouth, the flavor is exquisite, and my taste buds were tingling as this extravagant food entered my mouth. I can never go back and I will never want to go back because this moment has changed my life forever and it’s path of knowledge I want everyone to experience this beautiful moments just as I experience this beautiful moment the steps it takes to go into this place. They’re beautiful. It’s such simple but elegant display of fine dining and I would recommend to all my future employees to go visit this restaurant and make the most of a moment because you never know what the future holds and the best part is the guy cooks right in front of you the guy is very very skilled and he threw an egg into his hat. I was beyond shocked at his skills in the kitchen, even I don’t have those skills in the kitchen. I can’t even flip a pancake if you told me too, but this guy is so skilled I want everyone to see him. I believe his name was Jose. José, the man you are I will never go to a different place that doesn’t have a Jose that looks like you because you are the star and you are doing amazing. Keep on doing what you’re doing guys. Please go here please if you want good hibachi at a pretty high price but worth it price go here and enjoy it while it lasts please. Don’t even get me started about that miso soup. It was flavoring in my mouth that tasted like broth and onions. Perfect I never had to experience such an amazing display of flavors in my mouth. Thank you for this joyride of the time. Another thing I really enjoyed with hibachi noodles. I’ve never had noodles as smooth and crisp as these these noodles I dream of and I wish I could have on the daily base. I know it’s unhealthy, but I know I would love to crave these every single day, which I do crave these every single day, so it’s not like I’m wishing it Another thing that I wish that they could sell in market is the butter sauce I will die for that garlic butter sauce that they use in every mix of the food and the soy sauce please make something where you guys can sell it please I will buy a whole Number and consume all of...
