Roslyn Seafood Gourmet — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

This place is a rip off! Absolutely disgusting prices for fish! I went there right before closing and bought 3 smaller Black Sea bass whole fish (last 3 in the place) and they placed them in the scale to weigh them before they clean them for me ..they had the nerve to tell me at the end it was $90 dollars!! I really thought they made a mistake on the scale. It wasn’t my first time buying fish on Friday for dinner but it definitely was my first and last time I will ever step into that fish market again!! No joke he told me it was $20 per pound ..unheard of!! The usual price is only 7 to 12 dollars at the most. Highway robbery prices thru out the store! At that price he should have cooked them for me and served them on a plate. Do not go there if you are smart unless you are desperate and want to get ripped...

I go here all the time, Google only allows 5 stars for me this place is a 18 stars out of 5. I've been too tons of seafood stores and nobody has better quality and taste then they do. The only possible complaint you will see on here is the prices and well basically those people don't understand good quality and what that costs in the food business today. Shrimp cocktail and the grilled shrimp are absolutely delicious! The prepared fish, soft shell crab, tuna etc are all excellent. Staff is extremely nice, I can't say a bad word about this place it's just the best seafood store you will find plain and simple. Anyone who complains about the prices has no clue what quality costs. And if you are pinching penny's you can save by paying cash. Bottom line if you want great seafood go here you will not be...

I came here for fresh seafood and ended up purchasing several prepared food items, since those are easy and looked well made. I tried both seafood and vegetable dishes. All were fresh and tasted delicious. I care about fresh seafood. Prices are not cheap, but with seafood, quality really matters.
