Takumi Taco — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Not sure if I’m just a taco snob because I’m spoiled and live down the block from Cactus Cafe in Glen Cove, but I am genuinely surprised by all the rave reviews. I ordered the Bento Box with a chicken taco, shrimp taco, and charred corn salad, and I thought all of it was flavorless. The chicken was very dry and was just plain, no marinade or spices or seasoning. The shrimp taco had a very small amount of tiny pieces of shrimp in what tasted like mayo, almost like a shrimp salad you’d get from a deli, just in a taco. The charred corn salad was just corn, black beans, and onion mixed together. No salt, seasoning, or flavor. I ordered “Japanese rice and beans” for my son and it was literally just yellow Spanish rice with beans… what makes it Japanese? I think they employ great marketing tactics to make the food seem exciting or interesting, but in reality it’s just very bland and...

Was staying in Roslyn, ordered online at 5:24pm, received email confirming order, that they received my CC payment and they were processing. I was a ways away so I drove there and searched parking. No sign in front except for Deli. Deli owner said Takumi Taco is in the back, they closed at 5:00, didn't have good to say about them and said "I understand your frustration". I have disputed my CC charge but deserve more for driving 45 minutes and gas. What jerks! I recommend everyone stay away from...

We used the catering menu to host Father’s Day and it exceeded my expectations. Our guests loved each of their personalized bento boxes. The tacos were warm and crispy. The sides were a great portion too! Everything came packaged with labels, even the names of our guests. There was no confusion what each family member was going to eat.
