Went to T BAR on a lark for a date night and they were kind enough to give us a reservation. The atmosphere is gorgeous. But then there's the service. Our server couldn't even get a drink order in without having to run back to the bar to ask questions several times (and we had basic cocktails). When our drinks finally came out our server also showed up at the same time and the presentation of the smoked old fashioned was completely lost because he started asking for our order, but kept forgetting basic menu item information. Eventually my husband and I quietly said cheers and took our first sip while he was still struggling through the menu. I would've been clever to ask him about GF options first because he had to leave and come back twice when I asked him towards the end of his menu-struggle. Food came out in a timely manner. Tuna tartar was terrific. Oysters, not great. In fact, pretty sure I got food poisoning from one as I was very sick a few hours later. Our mains came out with good timing. I had the crispy duck and it was delicious. Husband had chicken paillard which he liked. I wanted a cappuccino after dinner but we waited over 25min from when they cleared our plates before the server came back, so we just asked for the check. We had a $200 GC to use and was excited to have such a generous amount of the bill paid for, but our server came over apologetically and said he couldn't figure out how to do it and he put the entire bill on our debit card. Besides having a server who isn't ready for prime time in a fine dining restaurant, and probably being fed a bad oyster, I'd actually like to try the restaurant with a trained and experienced server and skip the oysters to see if we have a better experience. Hate leaving a 2 star review. But for higher-end dining, it needs to be executed well from beginning to end and beyond...
Read moreThe food was delicious as always. My third time here and will certainly continue to dine here. I am a pescatarian so it can be difficult to find high end restaurants that meet my dietary requirements, but T Bar does just that with an astounding array of unique seafood options. Last night we ordered a pizza, octopus, and tuna tartare for the table. All spectacular. For my entree I had the Chilean Sea bass. The dish was paired perfectly with bok choy and cooked to perfection. My husband loved his steak. He ordered the NY Strip with fries as a side, and their delicious Au Poivre sauce. He said it’s the best Au Poivre he’s had since our honeymoon in France. Bravo T Bar! We paired our meal with a bottle of amarone and each had a margarita. I had the passionfruit margarita, and my husband had the hibiscus margarita. Both unbelievable. They have big cubes which I think are the best for cocktails! The service was great, and the restaurant seemed to be very busy. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Salta has a great attention to detail and she is very sweet. The bartender Holden (what a great name) makes the best drinks ever! By far the best cocktails around. The manager Keith takes great pride in his staff and his restaurants ability to put out a consistent, quality product and it shows. 10/10...
Read moreAlthough we had a reservation and arrived on time, we faced a long wait before being seated, which was quite frustrating.
On a positive note, the food was good—though I wouldn't say it was exceptional. However, the standout of the evening was definitely the service. We had two waitstaff, and while I can't recall the young lady's name, she wasn’t particularly memorable. On the other hand, Devin was fantastic! He was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. I've never had a waiter quite like him in all my dining experiences. He truly deserves recognition and a raise for his outstanding service! The bartender, Oscar was also great!
Overall, while there were some hiccups, Devin and Oscar’s exceptional service made the...
