My wife and I happily drive all the way from New Rochelle, crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge, just to visit this incredible establishment, and every mile is worth it. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love, care, and genuine hospitality that fills this place. The staff is exceptionally polite, respectful, and attentive. I have brought my wife here twice, and both times she left with a huge smile, which, in turn, made me even happier. The culinary experience is outstanding. The chef is a true professional, and every dish is thoughtfully and beautifully prepared. The quality of the food is simply fantastic. You can tell that great pride is taken in every meal served. On our first visit, as we celebrated our 16 anniversary, the owners personally came out to greet us , a gesture that made the evening even more special. Their warmth and kindness were deeply touching. In today's world, it's rare to find such a combination of excellent service and heartfelt hospitality. At this restaurant, you are treated like you truly matter. When we returned for dinner today, the owner recognized me from across the kitchen and warmly called out, "Welcome back!" That personal touch left a lasting impression. It is clear that the owners genuinely care about their customers and value every person who walks through their doors. God bless them for the environment they have created. The day me and my wife celebrated our 16-year anniversary, the owners took a picture with me and my wife that you can see on my Instagram page, and I also included the photo on this review. Adding to the already amazing atmosphere, the live music is fantastic ,setting the perfect tone for a memorable night. On one of our visits, we even had the pleasure of seeing celebrities like Nicole Ari Parker and her husband walk in. In short, I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone I know. If you’re looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and an atmosphere filled with love and kindness, make the trip — you will not be disappointed.

The perfect little slice of Southern charm! This authentic restaurant is tucked away in the most adorable part of town—it truly feels like stepping into a Hallmark movie. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted, and the atmosphere was absolutely impeccable. A woman was singing live with the voice of an angel, adding the perfect touch to the cozy ambiance. We were seated quickly, and the menu was full of genuine Southern favorites. We tried the short rib (9/10), Cajun shrimp and grits (10/10), and mac and cheese (9/10)—each dish was flavorful, comforting, and beautifully prepared. The sweet cornbread they brought to the table is something I will be trying to replicate for years to come. The service was equally impressive; when we realized we’d forgotten to ask to split the check, the manager personally came over to help and handled it graciously and efficiently. My only regret is not saving room for dessert—the banana pudding cake sounded heavenly! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area and have already recommended this gem to several friends.

This is a different kind of post because I have been helping out a bit behind the scenes. But what is great is i get the feedback. People love this place. It was a bit unexpected of how popular it would be. A comment I got from one patron is "Don't tell us it will be ready in 20 minutes, the food is worth waiting for." So let me let you in on some my father's house rules so you can partake in this lovely meal...

  1. Ask what's available on the menu. Food runs out due to it's popularity.
  2. order ahead call in a good time to call during the week is 4 pm
  3. if you want to dine in make a reservation to secure your seat. We definitely take walk ins but don't be disappointed if no seats are available due to spacing restrictions
  4. the food is made fresh. This is not KFC. Therefore there will be a wait as it is prepared. If you are dining in bring a guest you want to spend time with and have pleasant conversation while you wait and if dining alone bring a good book, as the food is worth the wait and the staff is pleasant.
  5. there is a limited front house staff that is working hard to satisfy the needs of everyone so be patient with them as when they are focused on you they will work hard to keep you comfortable
  6. if you come on a day when there's a live musical performance, don't be afraid to leave them a donation to, it makes their hearts sing
  7. when calling in orders if you don't get a live person on the first try call back we are there just probably on another call
  8. when calling in orders leave your number we will call you when your order is ready to be picked up.
  9. enjoy the food! My favorites are the sweet potato waffle (I got stuck on repeat with that one, I didn't try the others yet) the fried okra and dip was new for me, I am sold, the hush puppies... hush your mouth, love them with the melted cheese surprise. The fried fish..yassssssss. shrimp and grits... a moment of silence then stomp your feet and dance in a circle hands up. I love them both ways. Carolina sunrise puch... now I started calling it crack punch because I am addicted. I have to try the vegan options. I like the pasta Slaw, that was new for me, but thoroughly enjoyed it with my hush puppies... I think it's my new thing.
  10. oh and if you have leftovers, and you probably will... heat it up in the oven at 375 chicken no more than 15 minutes and sides about 10 on the same heat.

Come on to My Father's House we LOVE the company and you'll...

We finally made it! I’ve been eyeing this establishment for the past few weeks. My man said he wanted some good soul food so the hunt began, and My Fathers House was the winner. And it really lived up to our expectations! They were gracious enough to push back our reservation (twice!) because we were running late, and upon arrival, we felt cozy right away, the decor was wonderful.

I would have normally been working brunch at the restaurant that I work at, so it was nice to be served instead. On that note, the service was the only reason I unfortunately can’t give 5 stars. Our server Malcom (the only reason I know his name is because of the RECEIPT), was giving out distinct miserable vibes. Being a veteran in the service industry, he gave us service of a person who tried to call out of their shift but couldn’t. Through and through, it just seemed like a very painful experience for him to serve us. That really put a damper on our trip. We drove an hour away for not only a meal, but an experience as a whole. The service effected that experience.

The food was phenomenal, pictures don’t do it justice. The live music covering gospel classics and jazz and soul was just such a nice touch, perfect background music. Complimentary to the food and vibe as a whole. The Chef/owner and her husband both touched our table and that was the saving grace for the service in general.

The biscuits/muffins you get when you’re seated are finger licking good. We ordered the kids whiting with hush puppies, the beef rib with Mac and yams, another side of Mac with collard greens and the chicken and waffles with a red velvet waffle and when I tell you, God is good! May the Lord bless this woman, her hands, her line cooks, staff snd husband! Wishing you all the best. You all are going to do great.

We already had plans to visit again before we even left, I really do hope that the service was a one off situation and we can receive better service...
